The TASM forum has this, so why not on this forum?

Because there's nothing good to talk about with this film?

:hehe:

Cinematography, set pieces, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, OsCorp, Andrew's Spider-Man, the beginning scenes (plane sequence and truck chase), some of the slo-mo...

Yeah, I took a break from these boards when the movie was released to avoid spoilers as much as I could.
I'd rank it second-best.

My ranking of the Spidey films.

Nice.

It's unusual to see long time members loving this movie.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing the same but I couldn't resist. Thankfully, I avoided the featurettes. Those gave away so much on top of the trailers you could almost piece together the entire movie between them. Sony's marketing is rubbish. I'll be watching even less next time.

Still prefer the first ASM? That's cool. I think it def had a much tighter narrative and the tone, although not entirely my favorite, was better balanced.

Honestly, I found one of the biggest critiques of the movie undeserved. I'm referring to the critique of some saying too much stuff was thrown into the movie. While I agree it had a lot going on, it balanced it all out pretty well. It's not about how much stuff is in a movie, too little or too much, it's about how it's used. ASM2 used it all properly for me.

There was definitely a lot going on in the movie. Luckily, most of it was really good.

A lot was going on but you can link most of the plots to OsCorp. I think that was the point.

And yes, lemme add (like everyone is doing) that suit!!

The Spidey suit and Emma Stone.

Andrew Garfield
Emma Stone
Dane DeHaan
Sally Field
The suit
The whole third act

The actors, suit, and action scenes are the best parts.

However, if I had to pick a scene, it would be the scene at the end with the kid. I haven't felt so much emotion from an ending since the ending of TDK. That just hit me in all the right spots.

The Peter and Gwen chemistry, the swinging/action sequences, and the suit. Other than that, it is an empty film

  • The last 20 minutes or so, really typified spider-man, his struggles and what makes him a good person. Gwen Stacy's death was handled perfectly.
  • How Villians/Peter intertwined thematically (hope, overcoming obstacles)
  • Perfect Spider-Man on screen
  • Powerful OST
  • Gwen+Peter's relationship
  • Humour

The suit.
The score.
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield.
Spidey's characterisation, humour and general fun.
Gwen's death and the final ten or so minutes which hit me hard.

Good to see you around, Majik. TASM2 is my second favourite of the franchise too.

The visual effects, Emma Stone, Sally Field (although she didn't do much), the part where Spidey saved the people from getting electrocuted, 80% of the score and I liked the chemistry between Stone and Garfield in their scenes.
