Also, about Nofx, punks just hate them for some reason.

I know people think that "So Long and Thanks For all The Shoes" was their last good album, but that is definatly not true. Pump Up The Valuum, The War On Errorism, Wolves In Wolves clothing, and Coaster all have their highs and lows, just like every album ever made. Watch Nofx's Backstage Passport that was on fuse. It was awesome.

Punks are just a fickle bunch of ass holes, it seems if more then 30 people like something, its not cool anymore.
Pump Up the Valuum and War on Errorism are both good albums on the whole. I thought Coaster was pretty mediocre, though. Never listened to Wolves.

Sometimes I think punk fans (and other genres' fans too) would be happiest if every band made one album and broke up. Music fans in general are way too fickle.

Other. The Street Dogs.

Half the stuff on there isn't actually punk. Bad Religion was formed in the early 80s, so they shouldn't count. Rancid is awesome, but the Street Dogs are superior. Check 'em out if you haven't.

TBH, this poll makes me sad. Best punk band, but the options themselves indicate that whoever started this thing isn't familiar with much punk.

that doesnt make you un-punk. it just makes you ignorant. :p

i kid, i kid...kinda....

Fair enough. The Ramones are boring, the clash are lame, and the sex pistols are weak. I'll stick with the Descendents, the adicts, and minor threat. thats just my opinion though.

no decendents?

no mr. t experience?

no queers?

no jawbreaker???

are we talking best "mall-punk" or best "punk-punk"?
JJJJJAAAAAAWWWWBBBBBRRRRRREEEEAAAAAKKKKKKKKEEEEEERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

"When all the old consoling places lose their charm and change their faces
the world becomes to cruel to bear, something in you starts to tear....
WE'RE ALL CLOSE TO THE END DONT YOU NEED A FRIEND?"

Oh I could go on and on.....

How about "no Oxymoron? No Conflict? No Crass? No Flux of Pink Indians?"

Descendents are the most important american punk band after The Ramones. Without Descendents there would be no Green Day, Rancid, Jawbreaker, Blink 182, Nofx, Pennywise etc. Milo is the ****ing man!!

im cool with the descendents....but your rationale there makes me with they never existed :p

Im listening to them now, drew a little milo on my guitar

Rancid and NOFX are the only bands on that list that have been consistant punk bands. all the other ones had some punk albums but gave it up

Goddamn, this thread makes me very very sad

First off...whoever answered "punk sucks" are *****ebag trolls who probably have no taste in just about anything...if you hate a genre, why hang out in thread about said genre?? f***in morons

Second, as some have said, the only punk bands on this list are rancid, nofx, and bad religion, possibly offspring.

The rest are pop rock bands (just ask Green Day, they call themselves a ROCK band, not punk)

I could list at least a hundred better options for this list, even if we're keeping it "mainstream"

Pump Up the Valuum and War on Errorism are both good albums on the whole.
Whoa had no idea one of my old topics were still alive! Lol Well as one of the original Punk Rockers on the hype, Pump and war will always be my fav NOFX albums!!!

Dug this up to say I have been listening to a lot of Bouncing Souls recently, I forgot how awesome they were until I saw them in L.A. a few months ago.

Also, Banner Pilot "Heart Beats Pacific" is my favorite punk album of 2011. check it out.

Offspring - Why Don't you get a job....

It seems like a lot of the bands listed in the poll aren't what people really consider "true punk" bands, they call those bands pop-punk. I myself have no clue what true punk is this day and age. The only true punk band I ever see people list is Sex Pistols and The Ramones. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

That said, I really like some Sum 41 songs. Mainly because the dude's pretty good on guitar. I'll admit to listening to some Blink 182 songs, but not many. Aside from them... I don't think I listen to much "Punk."
