Schindler's List was a pretty good one.

Wait... are you saying there was actually a Hitler?!

OKMG.

Hitler didn't kill himself, he died in 1956 when Stalin stabbed him with the Spear of Destiny. The Stormtroopers were actually undead beings from the nineteenth dimension.;)

Blade Runner-yes, found it amazing.
Brazil-no, I can't find it anywhere(And I refuse to use Ebay or buy it over the internet).

I've seen all of the films on the list, except for Brazil.
Where are Forbidden Planet, Planet of the Apes(Original), The Thing, Twelve Monkeys, THX 1138, Minority Report, AI, Jurrasic Park, Serenity, and the Fifth Element.

I take back what I said since all those are excellent choices sans Serenity and THX 1138.

I don't know, I really like Serenity.

Maybe it's just that it gains more nuance if you've seen the show.

You understand it better if you've seen the series. So it should be Firefly/Serenity then.

That's wht I hear, but the movie itself, I liked but nothing more than liked.... So I'll reserve judgement I suppose till I see the show, but a movie should stand on it's own two legs:mad:

I never saw the show before I saw it in the theaters, and I thought it made sense.

Well, it's kind of like a sequel situation, and I think an admiral job was done of introducing it as its own movie. Would you have enjoyed the Two Towers as much if you had never seen Fellowship?

Touche... Now I need to decide between watching 2001 Space Odyssy or La Dolche Vita*SP

no no no....
It was a joke.
Those films are so long and drag on for SO long, at least 2001 drags on.

Oh I kind of assume that what you meant, that's what I hear bout 2001... But for a lover of film, it's a must-watch plus it's Kubrick and Dr. Strangelove is one of my all time favorite movies.

He's right though, 2001 is a bit... ambitious.

Great thing about watching it at night, kick out an hour tonight, go to sleep and then finish the rest tommorrow. I've got 27 movies left on the AFI 100 list, I've put it off long enough.

Nothing happens for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
I sat there waiting for sommthing to happen and nothing did.
Sure it's pretty, but I didn't get anything out of it.
There is nothing to keep you awake.
At least in LOTR or the Godfather something happens, and you actually feel like the story has accomplished something.
I watched it a long time ago, and saw the whole thing, and came out totally bored.

2001 is awesome, I understand people see it as a bit slow, but it's like watching a moving masterpiece painted by the finest artists, with music from the finest composers. It's so intricately delicate and beautiful.

Serenity??? that was just a standard sci-fi series episode made into a film. Anyone who watches sci-fi TV series has seen that story done better.

Yay, Kubrik fan!!! As for speedball lives' list, Twelve monkeys is less 'classic' and les recognised than brazil(so i chose the directors classic!), AI, isn't classic, it lacks the edge that close encounters or alien has. Thx1138 is not widely enough known to be a classic, people only watch it because of his other work, it's not a standalone classic. Minority report and fifth element aren't classics, especially minority report which is just a half decent sci-fi-action flick, can't stand up to the likes of blade runner.

The thing, that would have been a good addition, I'll give you that, I don't think it would achieve as many votes as some of the ones up there though.
