Best uses of de-aging technology in film

It's gotta be Peggy... I legitimately thought it was prosthetics.

I think when they superimposed parts of the older actress's face onto Hayley Atwell, they lost part of Hayley. It looks like an old woman, sure, but either her eyes don't quite look like Atwell's anymore, or the mouth. The general expression is different to Hayley's.

It will be interesting to see where Fury (in CM) ranks on this aspect. So far he looks amazing to me.

For Ang Lee's Hulk, they managed to make him look like a big baby. :o

What is that supposed to be and from what film?

The faces will be digitally altered, while heights will also be manipulated . It’s de-aging in its most literal meaning.

I still don't know who you are referring to.

It's from the last Twilight movie where the two leads had a baby who grows rather rapidly. They basically de-aged the little girl into a baby.

And what was wrong with just getting a real baby? It's not like babies even always look exactly the same as they are later on, especially in their first few months. They change quite a lot.

I can't technically say the films title outright due to a strict NDA, but it can be guessed with the age range of the 7 kids i listed.

What kids did you list? I didn't see any list of names.

I read that Marvel doesn’t expect their de-aged actors to look exactly like their younger counterparts. It’s supposed to be a different history with slight alterations.

Definitely not this. He looks so weird. :funny:

Is that code for saying they can't get it exact?

I agree! When I saw the first pic of Fury, I was shocked that wasn't makeup! The technology isn't perfect yet, but the de-aging for Jackson looks so natural from the trailers/TV spots!

I mean, Kurt Russell in GOTG Vol 2, RDJ in Civil War and Sam Jackson in Captain Marvel (from what we've seen of him so far) look pretty damn precise to me. Especially Russell.

The bar has been set really high for De Niro to look younger in The Irishman! The effects for Grudge Match are amazing! :o:funny:

The way someone grows up can go in many different ways depending on which friends they make throughout life, which areas they move to, what line of work they choose, how much stress they experience, anything that affects their lifestyle, happiness and health. There’s no way an aging technology can start with a base younger image and take account of whether you’re going to go through some trauma that shapes the way you look when you’re older for eg. In the same way deaging doesn’t have one correct answer IMO as long as it looks like a convincing younger version of a person, even if that is different to the real version (which in comic terms is just one specific reality/dimension).

Probably. But I buy it. Young Michael Douglas and Kurt Russell is their best work to date.

The de-aging effects in Aquaman looked horrible. It looked to rubbery and like a video game cut scene.
