Also... if you're Gail (and Melina I guess) do you want to go to TNA? It seems as if it's doing it's best Titanic impression as of late... so maybe they head to RoH?

How exactly are they doing their best Titanic impression? Seems more like a ship with a blown out engine than a ship thats hit an iceberg. Gails better off in TNA. If she was smart and saved all the money she made then the skys the limit for her there. Thats even IF she wants to stay in the business at all.

so....best guess business wise....can TNA keep limping along as it is?

"limping" along? They're not on their last legs...unless your inside guys at WWE have gotten you some behind the scenes info.

Ugh, TNA is in a bad way... but I'm not sure if it's going anywhere any time soon. It will just coast along in wrestling limbo until Vince.. er... Triple H & Steph buy out the company.

You assume they (or anyone else) would want it and its not as simple as just "buying it out" This isn't a WCW situation. For one thing the lawsuit that allowed WWF first dibs on making an offer for WCW hasn't happened with TNA.

TNA ain't going anywhere until Spike doesn't want them or they hemorrhage money...I mean a lot more than they seem to be right now.

They aren't bringing in a lot of money but they aren't losing MASSIVE amounts of money compared to their grosses compared to WCW either and they aren't being financially run into the ground by a Heyman either. Spike is also treating TNA much better than their progenitor TNN.

Harry "DH" Smith has also been released by WWE, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Man this one disappoints me immensely. DH Smith has so much potential. I just cannot understand why WWE never took advantage of him.

A damn shame. The kids got a pedigree like few others and he's got great size. People complained about Red being released by TNA (and rightfully so) but this is just a disgrace. They could have stuck him back with Kidd. Smith was certainly more talented than McGuilicutty or DiBiase in the ring.

The Hart Dynasty was a good team.

Sad to see Melina go, one of the top 5 female talents WWE has had since the Trish era.

Do TNA still feature the knockouts as much? if so her and Gail will do well down there.

Also Surprised that Chris Masters got cut before JTG.

Especially given that he's buddies with Randy panties.

Celebrity chef Robert Irvine. The best thing a diva can do is marry someone outside the industry.

Yes! I knew I should "know" the guy. My wife loves both of his shows on the Food Network... Dinner Impossible and now Restaurant Impossible.

i say limping, as they arent growing....or at least it isnt noticeable to me....they have made ONE trip to the northeast and id go to a TNA show if i didnt have to cross the Mason Dixon line

Sinking. Sinking is what I was going for. The Titanic sunk... TNA seems to be sinking. Although, I can fully admit that they often put on one great show a month and it makes me say "Gee... Why don't they do this all the time?" Then they'll go right back to being down right awful for weeks...

You assume .....
.

Well, I even said they won't be going anywhere.. However, BlackLantern said "best guess." That's what I did.. it was a guess. I don't think the WWE wants them... but they'd probably take some of their talent. Kurt Angle would probably run back to the 'E (or.. maybe I should say drunken stumble?) with his tail between his legs. :oldrazz:

As usual, I agree with you.

TNA still features the Knockouts in a prominent role on the shhow

Any idea what the difference is between the money they bring in and the money it costs to keep them running?

So is it safe to say the Divas division is almost a TOTAL POS waste of time now? Gail was wasted so she quit and while a lot of people don't like Melina she was still one of the best workers there.

So now we got Beth...Natalya...and thats it as far as solid experienced female workers

Gail Kim announced today that she quit WWE on Monday. We had heard for several weeks that she had been extremely unhappy and had been very vocal about it.

Note from Superark: TNA will probably be welcoming her back to the Knockouts division in no time

I'm not shocked. This explains why she rolled out of the ring and kinda blew it off as no big deal. She had nothing to lose

Same with Melina when she posted that statment about respecting Gail for standing up for herself and Melina herself wanting to see improvment. I think they both knew their time was up either by their own choice or WWE's.

The Knockouts are starting to build momentum while the Divas division looks like sh**...more than usual. Great to see Beth get a push but Kelly Kelly is almost worthless in the ring.

I'd LOVE to see Gail and/or Melina go to TNA and Wrestle Tara and Mickie without the WWE restrictions or wrestle Sarita, Madison Rayne, or a few other women.

The best part is that unlike WWE the great matchups I want to see DO have a chance of happening in TNA if they sign.

The Diva division too a huge hit and lost any chance of Kharma left.

I think they want to bring in fresh talents. If TNA brings in more talents as good as Aries, I think it's the division will be fine.

Gen Me, as good as their work in the ring was, had an awful look. Red could have stayed though given hie's great in that underdog role.

I'm sad to see Gen Me and Red go but I think TNA only has so much money to go aroudn so they are letting some go or not using them so they can bring in others.

It sucks but damn I'm looking forward to that X Division match at the next PPV. Aries was a good signing IMO.

they are def running on a much smaller budget considering they dont travel as much....the Impact Zone is just a hair bigger than a college gym

Now that Melina and Gail are gone, that means that Beth is now the veteran Diva.

If they were sinking we'd be seeing much morre obvious signs of it. in the 3 years WCW was sinking everybody could see things that I'm still not seeing with TNA.

Were are the signs that Spike is not happy with TNA the way TNT and TBS were not happy with WCW.

Creative problems and financial problems can be tied together but they are not synonymous.

In ECW when it was sinking a lot of people were not getting paid for months. Have you seen any reports where large groups of TNA haven't been paid for months. Every report from outside the company says they have seen SOME growth in the last five years. Its small growth but small growth is not a sinking ship.

WWE could hire anybody they want from TNA without buying the company. Angle would probably go back if the money and dates were right...otherwise.

A lot of people don't want to go to WWE because of integrity. Stings turned them down repeatedly. He's not some poor guy who has to work but WWE still wants him.

A monopoly is BAD for the business and Sting knows it.

WWE being the dominant force in the industry has killed the overall talent pool. TNA sticking around helps WWE in the long run. Thats another reason they'd be stupid to try to buy it.

They'd run it wonderfully just like the did WCW or WCW ri...oh wait :whatever:

Not only has her attitude made her expendable, she's also Latino, which the WWE only needs one of to get that fanbase. They already have Eve Torres, Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio to appeal to that fanbase. It's not like they need anyone else. As long as Rey is still in the WWE, they really don't need anyone else.

As for TNA, I don't think they are failing, but they need to shrink their roster. A compacted roster might make for a better program for TNA. One of TNA's problems is that they have an overinflated roster, especially for one weekly show. Booking isn't the only problem TNA has as lack of major marketing and an overinflated roster are also problems. Get rid of the clutter in TNA and give some of the older guys backstage roles.

I know a monopoly is bad.. I'm not saying I WANT it to happen... Just that if it ever came down to it I wouldn't be shocked. That is all. I would be ecstatic if Dixie pulled her head out of the sand and TNA became something that's worth watching every week.. I just don't expect that to happen any time soon..

Now that Melina and Gail are gone, that means that Beth is now the veteran Diva.

I don't even see the point in keeping the Divas division around anymore aside for being road p***y for the boys. WWE has ran out almost every good female wrestler they had. I can count the great ones on 3 fingers.

The Divas aren't there to wrestle (most can't) and they can't do bra and panties matches or swimsuit style cheesecake so whats the point? They are nothing but filler now.

Not like it matters, but Eve Torres has a background in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. If she can straighten her punches and kicks she could be a solid to decent female MMA fighter if she ever wanted to go in that direction.

JR blogs on Cole...

On Michael Cole: Do I hate Michael Cole? No. I really try to not be a 'hater' as I've worked with too many people in my life that were. They're no fun to be around. Cole is in a challenging spot trying to raise his game to the level of the antagonist Lawler, Cornette, Ventura, Heyman, JBL, and Bobby Heenan. I do know that our three man team will evolve on Raw nicely. Thsi has zero to do with some, like me by and large, who prefer a two man announce team. I'm not a big fan of the three man booth on Monday Night Football, BTW.

Cole will NEVER be a Cornette, Ventura, Heyman or JBL. He will CERTAINLY never, ever be a Bobby Heenan. Ever.

I'm saying a monopoly is why some guys aren't going to sign with WWE. These days you can go to WWE and make a nice paycheck...but beyond that...most of the midcard talent will be used just as badly in WWE as they would in TNA. So whats the point of going besides money?

Any company can go out of business. If UFC wanted to they could make some serious moves to put WWE out of business in the next 5 years.

Or really all it would take is a change in management at USA/The NBC Universal family of networks and them deciding they don't want Raw anymore. Who else would pick it up?

The only thing WWE is really running on is their brand name and the main event. even WWE themselves give f*** all about most of their card. Creatively speaking they are mostly in a rut...except they have the brand name to keep some of the audience watching out of habit even when its terrible.

Even a ship with a weak engine can stay afloat and there are no strong indicators that TNA is sinking they just aren't growing. Anytime they make any financial headway they seem to add costs that don't pay off in the long run (like signing certain guys like Hogan).

Anyone think that Melina and Gail Kim may want to try Mixed Martial Arts?

She may as well go do that because I have a feeling she could make a lot more money doing female MMA, get a fair chance and time to showcase her skills, AND actually do it in a field that most people respect unlike wrestling.

Right now on a scale of respect from most fans and general public most WWE divas are probably one step above porn star.

Hell that applies to wrestling in general. The average young guy today might admit he actually likes porn unlike pro wrestling were he laughs at and makes fun of the half naked guys fake fighting in the ring.

Those guys were entertaining. You loved to hate them. Most people that don't like Cole just want to see him go away.

Those others guys also added to the broadcast as heels. Cole detracts.

If Eve were to go into MMA though, it would probably be Bellator or Dream since I believe that Strikeforce will no longer have Women's MMA when they merge with the UFC.

Dana White really ticks me off sometimes.
