I might have to go out of the way to see this at a friend's house. I'm hyped for this match.

The crowd were dead all night but that segment certainly got them going, both guys were very good on the mic IMO but Punk is just on another level to Cena and the crowd clearly were heavily in his favour as the segment progressed.

WHC is just a stepping stone to the WWE title and Punk was never a big name title holder so to me it made sense.

Punk is now...you all heard the crowd...THE top face of WWE. They simply cannot have him lose (clean) on Sunday. I think if Cena and HHH worked together to screw him, it might ignite a fire in people to support him even more...but they cannot end this match with Cena cleanly defeating Punk.

Punk's losing me. All he does is name names now. He doesn't really have a argument anymore. What he's saying sounds good but has no substance. Cena was gold tonight but the haters will just say Punk outclassed him in every way.:whatever:

To be fair... were you ever a "Punk" guy? Cena was good, no doubt... but it was Punk that woke up the crowd. Once John stepped up, Punk took it to the next level and once again, in my eyes, proved to be the best guy on the stick in the business.

Punk was gold.

I'm sure a lot of that was unscripted, Cena looked downright embarrassed on the stuff Punk called him out on.

Punk isn't the top face just yet. Last week Cena got the bigger pop. This week was Punk. I'd say their even right now.

Namedropping IS the argument. Cena gets all these chances...and guys like Chris Masters work their butts off for years and get dropped. That IS HIS ARGUMENT.

Yup.

Cena did a really good job tonight but I think he was wrong about there being nothing he could do to win over those millions. And Rock is angry at him for talking trash, that's what people like him do.

Heck of a segment to end Raw on.

Love how Punk subverted all the usual cliches of these kinds of contract signings.

Have Cena and Punk been reading this thread? Everything from Cena as Hogan 2.0 to The Rock's part time status...LOL. When he called Cena a failed bodybuilder I was almost expecting an Ultimate Warrior reference!

Using The Rock's facebook video was pretty clever by Punk but it highlighted that the Rock's whole act seemed thin and repetitive to me. Punks got a point...but he used it brilliantly to advance the issue with Cena AND call out the Rock for some of the same stuff he accuses Cena of.

LOLed when they worked Ice cream bars in there. Referencing all the releases really added to the "realness" and a lot of guys have talked about Ace the same way. I see he was back out there to take a beating like the stooge he is.

Even Cena really rolled with it tonight. Admitting he'd never win over a certain segment of the audience but that Punk had to win to be relevant. This is some of the better mic work he's done in a while.

Cena is still the companies top man and Vince will be careful in how this is played out, but when you have a dead crowd that a guy gets completely behind him the way Punk did tonight, you know you have a special talent.
Punk is the face for the older fans and Cena is the face for the younger fans, both can co-exist IMO.

Punk beat Cena by an inch on the promos. They were both gold tonight.

Exactly.

Note that Punk said "Worked his ass off to get better Masters was originally cut (how many years ago?) due to wellness... Punk made it known that Masters came a long way since then.

In fairness to Cena he could probably bring that regularly, he is a good talker who has been booked into a corner by the WWE.

I was when this first started but I realized now, that he's just naming names. Tonight when they called him out of his BS, he called them out on BS. But their **** was firing people on the phone? Come on Punk, you can do better than that. Cena has regain my respect and fanhood during this whole thing. They keep calling him phony but Cena's the realist guy in this whole thing in my eyes. He's doing it for his fans and not wanting anything out of this except to be the champ.

I give props to Cena.He stepped up tonight. The thing that's great about Punk isn't him dropping names. He makes you believe in what he's saying. You know it's real to him. That's what the best in the business have always done.

Next title for this thread: "There's two buns missin'."

I agree..

I don't hate John Cena at all.. I'm annoyed by him. He could easily win me over by, as he said, tapping into his heel persona.

I LIKED heel John Cena... anyone remember when he took a leak on Undertakers grave while rapping?

When he stops acting goofy and is a bit more honest Cena can be great. That part at the end where he spoke about how no matter what he would go onto Wrestlemania but that Punk NEEDS this win.....why can't he be that way all the time?

Cena worked his ass of too to get the top spot. Masters was only brought back cause he was Orton's buddy. Thats the difference.

Are saying Masters hasn't improved?Because he did.He should be given a shot.

Punk's response was to Triple H calling him a coward, and pointing out Triple H hides behind Ace when firing peopler then he explained that Cena is a phony because he didn't bust his ass to become a great wrestler, he took a cheesy superman gimmick and started talking like a 13 year old in order to be the corporate PG poster boy, instead of what he started out as, a guy wanting to be a great wrestler. Punk is the real deal.
