anyone hear kevin kelly claiming davey Richards is best wrestler in the world and not punk lol i know he works for roh now but damn lol

i have seen Davey he is a good wrestler but the man lack in ring psychology big time and he no sells as bad as cena maybe worse

his matches consist of him stiffing a guy for 30 minutes and he kicks out of like 10 finishers he comes across as a guy who thinks wrestling is real and tries to make it like it is mma by legit hitting guys really hard.

Yeah, dude is a pretty big no seller, he's also no where NEAR as good as Punk is on the stick.

Kevin Kelly is a tool... he's saying what he's saying because he's employed by ROH. The dude will forever be known as the guy Rock put a pair of ladies underwear over his head so he didn't have to look at him.

Also pretty sure he got a "hermaphrodite" chant after Rock called him one.

Davey is a good wrestler but I'll take Punk over him any day.

didn't Ryder used to be in a tag team with someone else as Edge's "followers"?

Kevin Kelly is clearly talking in kayfabe as he talks about Punk needing to beat Richards, and I think he knows the business is a work by now lol.

Richards is ok, basically a poor man's Benoit/Dynamite Kid with s**t for brains and a fetish for Puro.

"Pipebomb".

Thanks for the Gif, I downloaded the vid but it made it easier to just make the avvy from this. Shame you can't really see Punk's saying pipebomb.

I agree 100%

I seriously feel like his popularity comes from the fact that he's the intertwebz sensation. It's "cool" to like Ryder. His gimmick is awful, he's nothing special in the ring, but I give him credit for the way he did get himself over via the internet, even if I don't think he should be over in the least bit.

I actually agree, he's a Santino type though so I've got no issue with him working some comedy stuff here and there, and who knows, maybe he'll get the right feud where they can develop on what he's been doing.

As for Colt Cabana, Punk should not have sidekicks, and Colt is too goofy to work with what Punk is doing now. Maybe put Colt with Ryder over on SD as a tag team.

didn't Ryder used to be in a tag team with someone else as Edge's "followers"?

Yep, I know he made mention of it and showed pictures on the episode of Long Island Iced Z after Edge retired.

And I'll STILL take Hermie over Michael Cole at the announce desk any day.

There's never been a top guy who didn't use his influence somewhat. What makes problems is when they use their power and it makes the show worse. Punk won't be burying anybody. Beth on top of the Diva division is a gigantic improvement. People have been dying to see Ryder on TV. Colt is a talented dude that deserves another shot.

If he was forcing ''talents'' like Mason Ryan and the Alicia Fox into the spotlight while squashing someone like Ziggler, it'd be a problem... but he's not.

Politics can be used effectively. Politics got us the Attitude Era when Shawn used his power to tell Vince "this is the direction we need to go in" and started letting himself and HHH get away with murder with the DX stuff, and when Bret pushed to work with Austin and used his influence to give Steve a money making big feud.

so its only ok when you like the results?

some more of that convenient hypocrisy

You give Black Lantern a keyboard....and he'll turn it into a pipebomb.

Sheamus vs Henry is a decent addition to Summerslam, big power match.

Nattie going heel the same week as Beth leaves the roster short of faces who can work.

I hope Bryan's new music is as good a fit as Punk switching to Cult of Personality.

Zack Ryder looks like he's getting buried by Triple H, wonder if that is part of the Punk angle.

Random main event with the brand split continuing to be pointless.

some more of that convenient hypocrisy

What I mean is there's a big difference between it producing results people seem to like, and when it leads to horrible crap.

Punk getting Cabana a job might technically be the same thing as Hogan getting Beefcake a job, but one clearly contributes more to the show in a positive manner than the other.

You'll never get rid of politics or people using their influence to help themselves or their friends. It has always existed in wrestling and always will. It just so happens that this time it's helping young talented people instead of old/terrible people.

Call it hypocrisy if you like, we'll agree to disagree, and maybe you have a bit of a point. I still think it's a big, clear difference between something that benefits no one except the guy getting on tv, and things like this that fans seem to be behind and that can actually improve the show.

Also, who knows if Punk even has all this power. It might look that way but then again this could just be the WWE continuing with the creative overhaul started by this new Punk angle, without him actually throwing power around.

I just read that Daniel Bryans new theme might actually be a version of

FreeFall by 2 Steps from Hell don't know if this is true

Happening now... Seriously, the IWC (which.. I guess we're all a tiny bit apart of) will love a guy and the MOMENT other people start to like him they turn on him instantly.

That's why even thought I'm a "smark" I don't think I'd ever like being a full fledged IWC member. This is the first wrestling "forum" I've discussed wrestling in... well.. For a very loooong time. I used to post on 411 back when they were JUST 411Wrestling and only focused on wrestling.

I also used to post on a website called Bruiser Brody's Body Slams a loooong time ago.

This thread, even when people get "uptight" is full of some of the most intelligent and mature group of wrestling fans I've ever talked with. It's not a "chore" to talk wrestling here.

I think I agree with this 100%. I still remember instances dealing with the IWC that I got **** because I liked Attitude Era WWF, and guys like The Rock, and Austin, instead of watching "real wrestling" ECW, because Rob Van Dam was the greatest wrestler to ever lace up the boots, and if you didn't like RVD and ECW, you didn't know **** about wrestling. :whatever::whatever::whatever:
