I prefered what Ang did with the dramatic effect in 2003 and felt that this movie forced it into their script which served no true purpose. The movie made me feel that he should have gone for the latino chick in the beginning who was TEN times better and less complicated, lol so what you guys think?

connelly owns all...

Bana and her had more chemistry without even kissing in their movie.

I say they (especially connelly) are better actors and they probably had better direction as betty was actually a pivotal role in ang's film.

I mean the hulk purposely hulks out to save her and in his next hulk out, travels across the country just to see her plus it's clear at the end of the film she loves bruce enough to never have any contact with him because she knows she's being watched.

Even the scene when he gets hit by the gamma and he's in hospital and she's completely dumbfounded by why he isn't dead, you can tell this chick feels for him.

Bruce and Betty's relationship in ang's film doesn't require much evidence to be highlighted as the best superhero love relationship of recent years and possibly of all time (only catwoman and margot kidder can really compete).

but yeah, connelly is the man, don't **** with her...

Alright I might add that joint chemistry may let connelly down because for a large proportion of the film, bana was supposed to be void of experiencing a full range of emotions (which effectively what his manisfestation of the hulk was) but you could tell she loved him with all her heart.

Connelly > Tyler obviously, but in terms of chemistry I prefer Norton/Tyler over Bana/Connelly.

Norton and Tyler. Bruce is off making snide remarks and choking out Betty after hulkouts in Ang Lee's take. Here, it felt like Bruce just wanted to make her happy.

Norton and Tyler.

I felt no chemistry between Bana and Connelly in the least.

I feel exactly the same way. Connelly's a great actress but her and Bana were just so devoid of emotion and chemistry. The scene with the two of them in the cabin and in the lab chatting it up over beers comes to mind. I get that they're supposed to be boring but...wow...just...wow. It's like watching a pair of married robots.

Norton and Tyler actually felt like a real couple. They were even playing footsies on the helicopter, which was cute. Little things like the cab ride and taking pictures helped and I loved the scene in the motel where they're talking about what they can and can't keep. Just great chemistry between these two.

Norton and Liv actually looked like they had fun around each other.

I don't recall there being any real passion between Bana and Connelly.

I absolutely 100% agree with this post on every aspect, even Bana and Connelly being stronger actors. I did like the Norton/Tyler relationship, and I even felt at times that it was realistic. Not being able to be with the woman you love, even physically, is pretty strong stuff. But over all, the Bana/Connelly story wins out.

You think Bana's a better actor than Ed Norton?

To each his own, i guess....

I do actually...his performances in Munich, Troy, Black Hawk Down, Chopper and as Bruce Banner were excellent! He is a really great actor.

I thought Norton and Tyler had the better chemistry by far. I love Connelly, but Tyler blew her out of the water, IMO.

Although I think The Incredible Hulk is way better film than Lee's Hulk, I didn't find chemistry between Norton and Tyler as strong as the one between Bana and Connelly.

Love chemistry, however, is not just all based on tears, which is the only love chemistry I found in Lee's Hulk.

The humor in LL's Hulk also gave way to better love chemistry because you found that even in a tragic situation the both of them could sort of joke around about it.

Also, did anyone notice in Sterns lab Betty had the courage to hold the Hulk down before he broke loose of the table? I don't care if I sound preachy, 'cause that's love, baby. xD

Anyone who argues with this doesn't know ****!!

Hell, they created the chemistry that Norton and Tyler fed off cause without Bana and Connelly who is FAAAAR superior than Tyler, the new movie romance was horrible.

They used cliche love to tell the story and Betty had to be a cheating **** ready to make out and have sex with Bruce, leaving the other innocent doctor hanging. She had no morals...how terrible. Same as Mary J, but Connelly played a very mature woman who truly loved Bruce without lust. You felt as if they were best friends.

Edward Norton and Liv Tyler of course. As opposed to Jennifer Connelly's Betty, Liv's went out on a limb, jeopardizing not just her career but her life as well to help Bruce search for a cure.

So female characters have to be pure and chaste and just act like best friends of the hero? Real couples dont act like that you know. As for Betty leaving the doctor for Banner, I'm guessing theres a hell of a lot of deleted scenes making more sense of that subplot.

Incredible Hulk takes this one. Although I would have preferred Jennifer to be on the role of Betty in the new film. She would have had better chemstry with Norton.

I look at the issue this way. Which couple behaved like a real couple? When I watched TIH, I noticed how Liv and Ed did little things that real couple do, things I've done in my relationship. Bana and Connelly was way to dry and devoid of passion. People who are really in love don't act like robots around each other. Liv and Ed FTW.

Totally agree. The purple pants scene & the cab ride did it for me.

Agreed. I also felt that Liv and Ed's Bruce and Betty had greater chemistry...they really came off as a real couple in love.

I didn't get that sense in the 03 version.

Same goes for connelly

I don't care about deleted scenes. If the movie is not good when I leave the theater then that is what it is...Dare devil tried using that crap. I hate excuses for movies. There is a reason scenes are deleted in most cases.
