Bill Richardson: A Serious Candidate

But all administrations are asshats :csad:

Nah, but at that point it was kinda hard to be. When you are the successor to King George administration, its really impossible notto not come off as smelling like roses.

How about the Carter Administration? Horrible President, but great post-Presidential career. And he didn't come off as an asshat :csad:

No, I guess not. He just came off as an idiot. But ok, you win, I will revise.

All of the candidates in this election but Richardson are asshats. Therefore my above argument about Richardson's ideals being dilluted stands :cwink:

Colbert is not an asshat :woot:

Colbert is not an asshat :woot:

Colbert is only running in South Carolina and might not be able to be put on the ballot because it's too expensive for the Republicans and some of the Democrats in the committee that approves candidates are acting like *****.

Gotta love the way Democracy is underminded on a daily basis

If they prevent Colbert from being on the ballot I'm sure they'll wind up regretting it. He's already exposed the ludicrous dollars Republican candidates have to cough up in S. Carolina just to get on the ballot. I doubt the Dems want him turning his attention towards them in such a way. His whole point is to illustrate how any asshat (to use the word of the day) can run for President and how screwed up our whole electorial system is. They'd just be giving him more ammo.

Good point, but Bush and Cheney weren't attacking each other up to three months before announcing Cheney would be Bush's running mate. The American voters are a fickle bunch. You can lie to them time and time again and its fine. But if you decide to run with someone you were basically calling an ass hole a few months before, they take issue.

???
Thats not how I remember it ....
Cheney wasnt running for president ,so why would Bush attack him?
As I recall,Bush picked Cheney to find the best candidate to be his running mate, and Cheney picked himself

There has been so much mud slinging between the two though. I think it would be very hard for them to come off as sincere if they ran together.

I find it very hard to take anything Hilary says as sincere.

My only problem with Richardson is that he come across as pretty lackluster in the debates, and being telegenic is a major factor in how the voters perceive a candidate. He's my third choice, preceded by Edwards and Obama in that order.

Edwards/Richardson would be my ideal ticket come next Fall.

I have to unhappily agree on the Hillary...She definitely lost something post first lady. Its kinda sad actually.
Credibility is an issue across the board with all these candidates.
When you see crap like cranky old Ted Stevens is corrupt,it goes to show the longer you've been in Washington, the more ins and outs and lobbyists you know.

Just read this article, thought it sums up Richardson well and explains why he is the only one these jackasses qualified to be president

http://www.thenation.com/blogs/campaignmatters?bid=45&pid=247775

He is the most qualified. He's also the only one in the recent debates who's tried to stay focused on why he's qualified and what he brings to the table instead of jumping on the "Let's all bash Hillary" train. But he's fat, homely and Mexican...he'll never get elected. He'd be an awesome VP, though.

he's been my #1 choice for a while now.

Yeah, I've heard him being tied to her name the most of all the candidates.

i think it's because he came out and endorsed her as a candidate. plus, he was really stumping for her and defending her on the latest real time with bill mahr.

that happens in every election, though. the candidates trash each other while vying for thier party's nomination and then once the candidate is chosen they often choose one of their opponents as their running mate or the oppenent ends up supporting them. it's all about portraying yourself as the only viable candidate by discrediting the competition, then sucking up to them once you've won the nomination and asking them to join or support your campaign.

I love how Richardson has all this experience with foreign policy and what not. I mean the man negociated with Sadaam ****ing Hussein:wow:

Schwarzeneggers the most qualified and hje cant even run :(

id like this guy if his image wasnt so bad. To be pres you need a good image to get respect; a bad one kills you. Bush's image as a dumbass kills him even though he is actually very smart.

this guy is overwieght and mexican. If you could take Romneys look and put it with richardsons brain you have the ultimate president right now.

You shouldn't be allowed to vote. Though Romney certainly does have a chizzled jaw.

Part of my is actually rooting for Romney, because literally the only actor who could play him on film (and lets face it, there are movies featuring every president) is Bruce Campbell...and I would kill to see that

Hail to the (commander-in-) chief, baby.

I agree an excellent choice, but this is America. The guy has an even lesser chance than Barak. :(

Now if his last name was Lopez, then we'd have a clear cut winner :oldrazz:
