Do you think that tim burton really would have cast billy dee as two face? I have a feeling that he would have recast the role. Burton did not have much power on the 89 flick, but by the time of a 3rd film, he was a proper hollywod player. I just dont see williams in the role: A. because he's not a big star. and B.because he's not a very good actor. Not a bad one, but not very good one.

In 89 Billy 'Lando' Dee Williams was still a high profile actor and he was and still is a great actor.

Billy Dee is like the coolest person there is, but i cant see him as two face really. Not to sound racist but yes it is because he is black.

Man. It's Two-Face.

Race is impertinent. At least in Burton's eyes, considering he was going to cast a black dude as Robin. There's no doubt that Billy Dee would've taken the role of Two-Face in a third Burton installment.

God i cant believe i put Too face, im really off on one today, my Dad just said "im off to the shop to get my paper" and i said "yes please" for some reason.

He could actually have done a pretty good two-face imo.

Why would a high profile actor that had talent need to do commercials for Colt 45? And why hasn't he gotten work since that movie? The rise of Denzel spelled the end of Billy Dee.

Billy Dee Williams would done a better job than Tommy Lee Jone thats for sure.

Umm i wouldn't say that, id say Burton would of done a better job of directing Billy Dee than Joel did of directing Tommy Lee Jones. TLJ is an excellent actor who could of nailed it imo. Also i love your sig, Frankie is hilarious, one of my favorite comedians.

Schumacher watched the Adam West series and assumed all villains act like that

I think BDW would have been great as Two face. The race factor is not important to me on this character. I think that with what little screen time he had as Harvey in 89, he really did something with. You saw the crusading D.A. who so badly wanted to clean up Gotham, and who also was willing to accept the help of Batman. (by publicly reading the note and unvailing the signal). I do however wish he had the chance to show a more internal conflict, but who's to say how Burton would have defined Two Face. I think of how Billy Dee acted as Lando in Empire, how you really didnt know how to take his character when first introduced. He had this dark side to his character. I think he could have channeled that, and really make something happen as Two Face. Plus, he really wanted to portray Two Face, that was one of the reasons he signed on for the role of Harvey. Hell, TLJ, didnt even know who the character was when he was approached.

Billy Dee was awesome. Love the manip Shadow.

Can anyone really say that Billy Dee is a better actor than Tommy Lee Jones. Tommy Lee Jones directed by Burton would have been better than Billy Dee directed by Burton. I say this despite the fact that I'm a fan of Billy Dee. I even have a bottle of Colt 45 in my fridge.

It's obvious Tommy Lee Jones approached the material much like Gene Hackman did with Superman: The Movie, and I'm sure the fact that Schumacher was the director wasnt helping anything either. Having said that, i agree that Jones is definately a better actor than Billy Dee Williams. Although I'm sure Billy Dee's approach would have been a interesting one to see if he would have been cast in the role back in 1994. Unfortunately, I think that even if Burton returned to direct Batman Forever/Batman 3, the studio (WB) would have pressured Tim to find another actor for the role of Harvey Dent/Two Face. Mainly due to the fact that he wasnt as high profile of an actor as they probably would have preferred. As I'm sure the casting of Jones was seen as very much a positive in the studio due to Tommy Lee's recent hits at the time such as The Fugitive, and The Client, and WB basically got extremely lucky with Jim Carrey. As his career was on an extreme upswing as well. Which no doubt had an effect on the box office as well.

I would have loved to have seen Billy Dee as Two-Face. Under Burton's direction there is no telling how Two-Face would have been. I think Billy Dee could have pulled it off.

i would have to say they would of recast twoface.

Billy Dee "Lando" Williams would have owned as Two Face! A much much more serious take ala Nolans vision over the crap if Schumacher

I think it speaks volumes of what he could have done, knowing of Two Face's existance in the first place.

It's not like Two Face was famous outside of the comics in '89. Williams knew his stuff, obviously. I'd have stayed with him any day. Even if TLJ is widely considered superior, the fact that BDW was enough of a fan to know who Two Face was (as I said, Joe Q. Public wouldn't have known who he was back in '89) speaks volumes. He was already thinking ahead about how he was going to play Two Face.

It's that kind of foresight that gives a stellar performance.

I'd love to have seen what Billy would've done with Two-Face. I hated his Dent, though. Too much Lando. Too much.

I think Billy Dee would have been great. But i think Tommy Lee would have been too, under the RIGHT direction.

Burton wanted him as Two-face...and the only reason he took the job was because he knew the character would become two face

Thing is, Billy Dee had it in his contract that he got paid if he wasn't Two Face. So when Tommy Lee Jones played Two Face, they paid him and Billy Dee.

Really, i never knew that. Why was Sch-MUCKER so against Billy Dee returning? Maybe he suspected Billy Dee would never camp it up and cackle onscreen like Tommy-Lee did.
