The first trailer for this movie was an absolute dumpster fire. This one is certainly better than that trailer, but this does not look like a great movie. Again, this movie looks like it's going dial up a lot of what I didn't like in Suicide Squad up to 11, and there's just not much I can really sink my teeth into on this one. I kind of find this to be the complete antithesis of Wonder Woman 1984, which looks amazing.

I enjoyed this trailer more than I thought I would. If Canary and Huntress end up getting more comic accurate costumes, either at the end of this or in future films, I will have an easier time rolling with it. It still doesn't feel like a true BOP film with so much focus on Harley, but what little we see of the others shows promise. Especially Canary.

The big exception is Cass. I'm not even a big Cass fan most of the time, but that is just not her. Especially her line at the end of the trailer, that's just not something she would say even when she could speak. They may as well have used the character of Ellie from the Morrison run instead (teenage Asian girl living on the streets whom Bruce gets a job at his company and she shows up throughout the arcs).

This is Harley Quinn fan service and nothing more and that's fine with me. People who are really into BOP are screwed though. I love Harley so I expect to like this.

I don’t understand this view at all. These are all recognisable DC characters (with the exception of Cassie).

Why is this film - clearly set in a populated DC comics world - so abhorrent but everyone celebrated Joker which had literally nothing to do with the comics?

I don’t know if it’s because it’s a movie about women heroes and they look nothing like them [debatable but I think they all look and act like the characters from what we’ve seen] or something else... but it’s silly! This looks great to me and hope it’s successful!

According to rumors (unconfirmed), WB has signed Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn for 4 movies.

So, David Ayer's Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey and James Gunn's The Suicide Squad are the 3, so one more Harely Quinn appearance is due.

Initially, Ayer was going to direct Gotham City Sirens, which had Harley in it but Matt Reeves came and pitched a separate Batman Universe and demanded that he wanted certain Bat-characters like Catwoman, Batgirl, so we might not get to see those in DCEU. Which is why GCS movie was cancelled.

While I get fans' frustrations, I'm really digging the look and feel of this movie. Feels very Tarantino-like to me.
