Birds of Prey Birds of Prey General Discussion and Speculation

I am aware of this and I knew this going in. But, even knowing this I do think that the new characters were not served as well as they could have been. Particularly feel like Huntress should have been in this movie more. Again, as a Harley Quinn vehicle, I think this movie works. I often see this movie referred to as Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey, and I do kind of feel like that's the title they should have rolled with.

I would have loved to see more of Huntress, but man if what she got wasn't absolutely amazing and hilarious. She kicked ass and had a goooolden personality.

"They call me... Huntress" :funny:

I wasn’t expecting to like Huntress as much as I did but yeah she kicked ass.

Jurnee’s Canary was great too but I would’ve liked a flashback scene of her mom in action.

I liked Huntress and Canary quite a bit. Montoya? Not so much. Just found her somewhat....annoying. Something aboit the performance didn't gel with me.

I liked that they made her unlikeable and imperfect. And that's a major plus for the movie. They really didn't try to make everyone perfect and oh so better than men, and were portrayed as human beings, which is why - as opposed to the new Charlie's Angels - the SJW / woke crap doesn't have any lick of sense.

Absolutely ADORED MEW. Glad they didn't bring back "that" Joker. I could hang out with a Harley Quinn all day and night as long as I was sure I wouldn't end up as a Hyena's main course.

It was almost comically hilarious the way they edited around and tried so hard to not show Leto's abomination of a Joker.

Given the public backlash against jared and now phoenix smash hit, I was trying not to laugh too. Its such a mess with what WB caused between 2015-2017 that now there almost forced to do standalones that aren't deeply connected. this harley is so tied to jared leto’s joker its almost impossible to separate the two

I like that the standalones aren't deeply connected. It allows them to be actual movies which focus on telling their story and telling it in a unique way instead of being a "in this month's episode leading up to the May episode..."

It's a whacky crime action comedy featuring Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey. It's something. It has personality and flair, and you can't compare it to, say, Wonder Woman. It's not the same movie all over again, just with a different character and window dressing.

The movie buff in me was very pleased. And the comic book fan, as well.

It said in wrestling that there is two kinds of heat a wrestler could get to get the audience to dislike them. One of them is positive and the other is negative. Black Mask in this movie was someone you absolutely could hate, but he was interesting to watch. He knew how to get you to hate him and dislike everything you stood for and want you to see the characters defeat him. Montoya for me had the other kind of heat, which is often known as go home heat. The kind of dislike where you don't really want to see them even on your screen anymore. You want them to cut to something else. I couldn't stand Montoya in that way, and for me, that was a problem.

I'm finally going to be able to see this today and honestly I'm really looking forward to it despite the fact that some people I follow on YouTube didn't seem to enjoy it all that much.

Many people had already made up their minds that it's not a movie that's worth your time / money, don't listen to them.

I did really like this movie actually use the fact that she's a psychologist in the movie. A lot of things with Harley Quinn tend to just portray her as crazy or like a female Joker or some version of Deadpool for DC, but this one actually used her backstory to the movie's advantage.

There's also the fact too many creators still want to slip in that she slept her way to her degree, rather than earn it. Glad that they are more than willing to ignore that character assassination.

Jeez...they really do that?

The fact they totally ruined Cass Cain kinda killed this film for me

I hate how everything is attacked for being "woke" now. I don't think of things in terms of whether it's woke or not woke but rather if I liked it or not. I don't even see people blaming dudes for this failing and yet that's a narrative that's already out there. Jesus. It's not like female lead films with male villains never existed before woke culture....I hate people sometimes .

To be fair on my twitter feed I see male anti-feminists hardcores hating on this publicly, and extreme feminists hitting back at them, and they both bash anyone standing in the middle. Like I think I'm blocked by one of the extreme feminists for trying to be positive, lol, be a fanatic or an enemy mentality

Man this movie was a blast from start to finish. Really loved Margot Robbie in this even more so than SS and I hope this and Gunn's SS isn't the last time we see her. Also, damn is the action/stunt choreography in this movie pretty stunning to look at. It definitely felt like stuff you would see in the JW films and I loved that.

This movie and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are tied for the worst superhero movie titles.
Not surprised about the title change. Should just be called “Harley Quinn” though.

I loved this movie.

but is anyone wanting a more villainous Harley? Anti hero Harley is not peak Harley. This is Joker’s (ex) girlfriend after all.

I got a real feel-good factor from seeing comedy Harley.

I thought she was only ok in SS but totally amazing here. Just pure fun lol.
