Are the origins of Helana Barbara and Dinah changed because of the Infinite Crisis.

Well, Dinah's no longer one of the founding members of the Justice League. I'm not sure of anything beyond that...

Well, Helena to the best of my knowledge has had only two origins:

Her original Earth-2 origin, in which she was the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle-Wayne.

And her revised post-Crisis origin, in which she was the daughter of a mob boss or something.

As far as I know she hasn't had a "Power Girl" pulled on her and she doesn't know of her original Earth-2 origin, so I would say that her post-Crisis one is sticking for the most part.

I don't see it that way. From my perspective, the Earth-2 Helena only had one origin: Daughter of Batman and Catwoman. For as long as she lived, that origin never changed.

The Post-Crisis DCU Helena only has one origin: A Mafia Princess, as you say. Ever since her debut, that origin has never changed.

I never saw them as the same character. After all, Earth-2 Helena got killed in the final issue of COIE. You draw a parallel with the way Power Girl's origin story changed abruptly after COIE, but I think there are too many differences for that to work.

Earth-2 Power Girl didn't get killed in Crisis; she just found herself living in a world where nobody remembered a Golden Age Superman anymore, so how could she be his younger cousin? So an issue of "Secret Origins" gave her a new backstory as the granddaughter of Arion of Atlantis, but she still had essentially the same powers and was still supposed to have experienced at least some of her previously recorded adventures, meaning that she was still the "same character" with a modified origin, that's all. (And, according to the way Paul Kupperberg wrote her, she was also supposed to have experienced at least a few of the previously recorded adventures of the Earth-1 Kara Zor-El Supergirl, as well!)

On the other hand, Earth-2 Helena was a) Dead, and b) Erased from History. The Helena Bertinelli who became the Post-Crisis Huntress in the late 1980s was a "new" character who just happened to superficially resemble the Pre-Crisis Huntress that nobody remembered anymore. In that respect, I would say that the Post-Crisis Huntress's situation was not parallel to that of Power Girl's; it was a much closer parallel to Matrix Supergirl's situation.

The Pre-Crisis Supergirl had a) Died in Crisis (just like Pre-Crisis Huntress), and b) been Erased from History (just like Pre-Crisis Huntress again!). After a couple of years, Matrix Supergirl popped up. Superficially, she looked very much like Kara Zor-El used to look (at least some of the time, since Matrix was a shapeshifter). But her background and the precise powers were significantly different, and nobody was trying to tell us that she was still the "same character" who had appeared in previous Supergirl stories.

i know that technicly she is the daugher of a mobboss but i still like to think of her as the daughter ofbruce and selena kyle

You make a good argument, and I agree. I didn't intend to suggest they were the same character, although it did come out that way.

In a more than superficial way though, Helena Bertenelli is essentially the Earth-1 version of Earth-2's Helena Wayne - just like how Power Girl is the Earth-2 version of Earth-1's Supergirl.

Is there a particular reason for that? Bruce and Selina woulda had to be pretty young when they knocked 'em together for that to be the case...just seems to stretch the limits of suspended disbelief a little bit.

Or Breach was Earth-8's (it was 8, right?) version of Captain Atom.

I'm kinda bummed that Breach is gone now. I was just sort of getting to enjoy that book.
