Black Entertainment Television

Those aren't negative portrayals at all. White guys that can't dance or act like geeks really is no comparison to being a raping, murdering, gangster.
That's true. A better comparisson would be a channel where it shows whites being racist, disrespecting women and making meth.

I'm mad at BET for hogging all the black shows and black stars that could be on the other channels.

An awful lot of blacks have been on mtv. Ever heard of rap music? during the 90's 90% of the people on there were black. During the 80's it was all the same black guy but he made up 80% of mtv's airtime.

and those other channels are not WET. That's a stupid thing to say.

BET Shows Videos by Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguliera, does that mean they're all of a sudden not BET anymore?

Open your eyes

Are you saying these stars and shows don't really exist on BET? What are they showing then, a black screen? Is that what BET means now? Blackscreen Entertainment Television?

They should change their name. There is really no reason for it.

There are black shows, but they're reruns of old black shows. There are no new ones.

what's that supposed to mean?

Exactly what it says. If he was joking...disregard.

If he was serious I want him to name some of these stars and shows...which he won't be able to do since BET has next to no original programming. It's mainly reruns and videos.

yeah and those shows could be shown on other channels. From a business perspective it's less profitable to buy up the rights to show something if it's being shown on another channel, because you wont get the whole audience, because a lot of them will watch the channel it's already on.

I want to start WET:White Entertainment Television. It will be I Love Lucy and Monty Python all day long.

i'm white and Monty Python could NEVER entertain me

The only shows that America seems to greenlight for Balcks is the ones that have us making fools of ourselves. Just look at UPN and WB......

..the Flavor of Love, as entertaining as some may find it, is exactly how America views black's as a whole. It's funny, at my college i hear other races talking about how great Flavor's show is, and how much they love it. What do they love, the educational aspect of Flavor looking for love...:whatever: ?
Or Black woman demeaning themselves for their 15 minutes of fame?

I really get tired of hearing my black sistas (The same one that love shows like Flavor) complaining about how black men don't repspect them, and how we demean them in areas like in hip-hop videos. It's funny that i've never heard of these video chicks being held at gun point on the set of these rapper videos, and forced to shake asses.

The issue is, these woman are using sex to get ahead, and then when it doesn't work and they fail to achieve their purpose, whatever that may be, they claim that we don't respect them. The fact of the matter is, these girls are looking for an 'easy door' into the entertainment business; using their bodies instead of their brains; and eventhough it has worked for some, the chances it will work period are very slim indeed. I guess it's easy for anyone to point the finger at someone else, rather than take responsiblity of their own actions...sad, so sad.

Mario Gully is talking about bringing his comic Ant to a cartoon series, and Hudlin and McDuffie are now supposedly in charge of the animation block on BET, so hopefully he can do this.

Yep.....singin' and dancin' is where blacks have always been. That is not what we are talking about.

Obviously it has fanservice shots, but there aren't that many panels I can find online without copyright issues. It's similar to Spawn to an extent.
