that depends on what you mean by "mask"... just kidding. hey, maybe liev schreiber as black-mask? my top5 sionis-es would be:

1. Benicio Del-Toro (image the guy with a big wood skull mask on his face, a power drill in his hand and a body besides him with a huge hole in the head)
2. Liev Schreiber (he was close to being two-face)
3. Josh Brolin
4. Guy Pearce (although his my #1 choice for Lex Luthor)
5. Javier Bardem (would make the best bane ever in any media, including comic-books, but what chances do we have to get bane? EVAR?)

wouldn't tom hardy kick a$s as Deadshot? he'd just be way more efficient as him...

also, i saw someone suggested Peter Stormare.he;s ine of my favorite actors, and he's way too old for roman. but... why not have him as penguin? he'd seriously make this role unforgettable.

Benicio Del Toro is a VERY interesting choice, one of the best I've heard thus far, if not the best.

He was one of my picks for Joker back before Ledger was cast.

I feel Black Mask would be a waste of Del Toro's abilities. He needs a more meaty role. Black Mask is mostly a supporting villain, a mob boss.

But if Nolan writes him well enough, you'd need an actor who can pull it off, behind a mask no less. BDT is a great choice. Wow.

Not sure about the Joker, although he's an incredible actor, he would've been able to come up with something good for the part. But Black Mask? Bravo Nimibro!

I think it would have been very different, but still pretty dark and unique. I didn't like the movie, but in Sin City he was almost unrecognizable in a good way...besides the makeup. Like ledger, he can be both very reserved and intense or very physically animated without being a goofball....so I think those qualities would have lent themselves to the Joker quite well, along with his raw talents as an actor. I also thought Sean Penn could have been a really good Joker.

hey....how about Mickey Rourke as Black Mask?

True, true. I think I sense a "BDT dammit!" forming inside of me.

wasn't that just fan based? I thought Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo were the close ones?

I would have liked Joaquin Phoenix as Harvey Dent to be honest he kindof has a bit of the animated series look going

I'm for Tom Hardy for Black Mask, he has potential.

i think Black Mask shouldn't have the skull. Instead, base it off on Greek masks to make it more exotic and almost beautiful.

Interesting suggestion. Something like this, perhaps? Not the exact design, of course, that would be stealing from 300.

White_Knight191 made me this awesome manipulation featuring bgates87's Black Mask.
I definitely want him as the primary villain for Batman 3.

I just don't want the mask molded on his face...that's a Nolan change I would fully embrace.

I´m not that great a fan of black mask but that pic is cool even if it is the poster of that horrible hitman adaptation .

I'm just thinking, is it beyond the realms of possibility that we won't see any mask at all, should Nolan go with Black Mask? I can see Roman Sionis playing a key role as a public face, while at the same time chairing mob meetings within a black shadow hiding his face. Hence the name, Black Mask.

I've been going through various threads lately, and I've noticed that a lot of posters seem to want Black Mask as the main villain for Batman 3, which is something I really find baffling. To be honest, I'm not very familiar with the stories from the 80's with him, but I am familiar with his modern role as a Freak Crime-Lord, who looks remarkbly like The Red Skull. Personally, I have to admit that I find him in his current version to be one of the blandest and weakest villains in Batman's rogues gallery. We've already had two disfigured villains in TDK, do we really need another one, who can't possibly be as compelling?

Is there something that I don't see in Black Mask, that everyone else does? What makes people think he's a worthy villain for Batman to tackle in the third film?

It's because everyone knows nolan only uses bat-villains that wear suits, and the pickins are gettin slim.

Roman Sionis, AKA Black Mask could be a challenge to both Batman and Bruce Wayne.

Black Mask was known to have control over all of the gangs at once and would make sense after Joker tore the gangs apart in The Dark Knight.

I have a feeling a major color scheme for the third film will be black. BLACK Mask.

And...he's not really a disfigured villain. It's just a mask, lol.

I just think he's really interesting. His origin is really cool to me and I like how it ties into Bruce's childhood. He presents a foe for Bruce and Batman He's a mob boss villain that will work really well especially in the Nolanverse. His look is really cool to me, the skull mask is awesome. And hes a villain that we havent seen in live action.

Those are my reasons

I don't know about everybody else, but I like this particular thought process for the character and think it would work pretty well for Nolan's Batman.

Sionis discarded the ebony mask, believing his scars to be a sign of his strength and determination to survive. By now completely insane, he led a cult whose trademark was ritual scarring, killing anyone who refused to join. He led a powerful group until Batman and Huntress dissolved it. Sionis was imprisoned in Blackgate Penitentiary, but he managed to escape before the city was made a part of the country again.

But you are right. They already did horribly disfigured villains with Dark Knight. No need to repeat the same thing over again. IM2 made that mistake.
