^Rupert Thorne is only a gangster in TAS where he took Maroni's place. In the comics he was a corrupt politician who has ties to the underworld. He ran for mayor and made Batman an outlaw and demanded he be arrested.

That actually goes along with the end of TDK. I could see Thorne having a bit part as a corrupt mayor who takes Garcia's place. But like I said, only a bit part so he'd only have around the same screentime as Garcia in TDK.

Joker killed Gambol and the Chechen.

Chechen's dogs killed Chechen :hehe:

Wtf is Falcone doing in Arkham:huh:

Scarecrow made him nuts; the last thing we saw of him, he kept saying "Scarecrow...Scarecrow...".

How about Thorne as someone trying to become the new mayor and hires an assassin named Deadshot to kill Garcia?

Black Mask will try to unite the gangs of Gotham.

And...I really want Riddler to be a villain that's on his own.

But the Scarecrow's gas was just temporary. Batman was fine after a couple of days when Scarecrow poisoned him and lit him on fire, he recovered. But I suppose Crane gave Falcone a lethal dose.

This I like

Batman was given an antidote from Lucius Fox.

Oh he was:doh:

Then I guess his gas is long lasting. Everyone else had an antidote too...except Scarecrow himself. Batman blasted him in the end of BB...I guess he was still crazy from the fumes when he was riding on the horse. But what about in TDK? He was acting normal then, especially when he popped out of the van "I said my drugs would take you places..." If he was still high on his own gas he would have been far more paranoid I think. Maybe I'm looking too far.

Since Crane created the drug, he probably created an antidote for it, too.

You just like to ruin my steam, don't ya? lol

Sorry :O

Just offering a possible explanation. Crane has been gassed by his own fear toxin in the comics, too.

No hard feelings Mr J, only joking with you :D

It is long lasting. That's why Falcone will never be a true foe in Nolan's universe again, lol.

Which is the opposite from Batman: Arkham Asylum; the effects wear off in the game.

a lot of the choices mentioned sound really good. idk why but i was always interested in clive owen for the role, still am for the most part. there's something about tom hardy though that really draws me to him. yeah he was good in inception, but his work in bronson is remarkable. i think he could nail black mask.

His character fits in as a mob boss taking over the dissolved crime factions, as well as signifying the freaks taking over Gotham. If he is in the movie, I feel like Nolan will ditch the childhood backstory.

Also, didn't Nolan plan on including Black Mask in The Dark Knight at one point? I've heard that so many times, but I don't have a link bookmarked. Anybody have one?
Very early on in 2006, there were rumors Roman Sionis would appear in TDK as a corporate rival to Bruce Wayne. At the time, there were also rumors of Penguin appearing in the film as a British arms dealer, and Sarah Essen having a role as a DEA agent but none of it came to pass.

Thanks, man. Never heard the Essen rumor though, that's pretty interesting too.

Here's the original report from BOF. It was posted in October 2005:

"I won't reveal all the villains, but I'll leave a few hints that the avid comic fan should be able to decipher. One will be an ambiguous mob boss with ties to the late Dr. Thomas Wayne. Another will be an industrial heir not unlike Bruce Wayne - in fact it could be said that he is a dark mirror of Bruce. Over the course of the story, he will be forced to present a new 'face.' And then we have a small, almost cameo type [appearence by a] villain who is considered a 'classic rouge' as a British arms dealer. It may sound a bit crowded, but it all fits together, makes sense, and works much like a comic story arc."

Sarah Essen - a former GPD cop with "ties" to Gordon - now work for the ATF.

"As for the villains plot, the mob boss and the heir get involved with a major arms deal with the 'British Guy,' while Batman and his allies attempt to foil it. [As a result,] they uncover more of the corruption plauging Gotham. Unfortunatly for both sides, nobody knew there was a Joker in the deck who complicates matters."

^Funny how absolutely nothing like that first part was in the film and "Joker interrupts a corrupt Gotham" is so vague it's ridiculous. I love how Jett starts it off with "I won't reveal all the villains..." as if he actually knew who the villains were and knew the details. What a loser.

Some people may be wondering why I'm bagging on a 'news' report from several years ago but it's relevant b/c that loser is going to continue to post more fake Batman news that he probably pulls out of his ass yet there are dumb people who will believe every bit of it. Give it a couple of months, especially when the movie starts filming. He will be rampantly posting lies.

Yet he gives such an obvious description of the villains that they couldn't be anyone else other than the two he was suggesting i.e. Black Mask and the Penguin. He's a clown.

Black Mask should be in the sex trade and rather than a corporate businesss man, be the head of a sadomasochistic sex slave ring in the Gotham Narrows that Batman busts. His mask should be tight leather with lots of spikes around his mouth and his suit should be snake skin with straps at the thighs and arms.

That way we could see how bad things are getting in Gotham.

I'm sorry. But that idea is awful. Truly terrible. That would butcher the character completely.
Black Mask is a mob boss who also acts as kind of a cult leader to his gang. This is not unrealistic.
Some drug cartels in Mexico and Columbia are part of a small religious group that is outside the main religions of the world. From what I understand they seem to worship a patron saint of drug dealers. So Roman Sionis adding a kind of religious imagery to his gang, through the whole mask ritual, is not that crazy.
Certainly not crazy enough that you have to repackage him as some tacky sex-criminal.
Nolan is far too faithful to the comics for that.

I think he was taking the mick ronny, or at least I hope he was.

On a forum where people don't want Levitt as The Riddler because "HE lOOKS LIKE HAETH LEGDER!!!!111!1" I have learned not to underestimate the absolute stupidity of the masses or the seriousness in which they hold their moronic, wrong opinions.

I'm now convinced. I want Black Mask in the movie, but as a minor villain. IMO, he should appear as Roman Sionis first. A corrupt CEO with mob connections, who is a business rival of Bruce Wayne. Also, Catwoman should have a vendetta against him, like in the comics. Maybe at some point in the film she scratches his face, like she did to Falcone in "Year One" and he starts wearing the mask to hide the scars.

Not the biggest Black Mask fan... but I like that take^

I'm sold on Viggo as well; ideal choice really. Either him or Daniel Day-Lewis, but Viggo's my #1 BB.
