BTW, a little tip for you Sabbath fans: drive to a desolate area where there are no traffic cops or other cars around, play "Paranoid" as loud as you can, and hit the gas and drive as fast as you can. It's fun!

Thats very true; its a great driving song.

My dad once claimed he did 90 while listening to it and got pulled over.

your ingorance does not make me feel smarter, it actually makes me feel sad for people like you, who give no true historical value to the things you "appreciate"

and that's the problem with a lot of people, they don't know and they don't care

if you really like something, you research it and learn the most you can about it, it's the logical thing to do

if you want banal, five minute entertainment, you're better off listening to Linkin Park

Thats hilarious that you say that, considering my almost nerdy level of knowledge of history and trivia about some other bands I like- Grateful Dead, The Beatles, Pink Floyd.. Its just that in the case of Sabbath, I am a newer listener there.

I'm the opposite of the type of person you're talking about. I don't even follow mainstream music.

I agree with what Plas is saying though. Are popular culture seems like it's starting to become this sort of fast food quick fix kind of thing, you know?
If that makes any sense...bare with me i haven't slept in a long time.

Me, neither. If by mainstream, you mean today's music, which is awful.

I too know insane amounts of classic rock trivia. Especially when it deals with my Top 5 Favorite Bands.

my all time favorite Sabbath songs are, in no particular order:

Hole In The Sky
Supernaut
Children Of The Grave
Symptom Of The Universe
The Wizard
Into The Void
A National Acrobat
Laguna Sunrise
Iron Man (first sabbath song I learned on guitar)
Snowblind
After Forever

"Iron Man" is still one of the Top 10 Greateste Songs Ever Made

I think Iron Man is the first song everyone learns on guitar.

I still absolutely have to play every time I pick up a guitar, it's not that I don't know anything else, but it's like a forcefield that compels me to play that song.

I bet I really get on the guys nerves that work at guitar stores.:D
