Black Widow Movie as a COMEDY?????

Not every MCU film has to be a comedy film and feature characters cracking jokes every ten minutes.

The game changing Black Widow spy movie is upon us....anytime now Marvel....

Whatever your opinion about it, this guy is not "joking." Don't understand why people are saying that

You know, I could see a Black Widow "comedy" working, as long as the comedy is pitch black. I'm not sure you could really make it work within a PG-13 rating, though.

What we really need is a blisteringly dark, psycho-sexual thriller of Black Widow. Her dealing with the abject brutality of Kremlin training. The experiments done on her to strip her off of her humanity. Her secret of hobby of cutting herself at night while she recalls the execution of her boyfriend, who used to rape her, shown in tantalizing detail. She kidnaps a woman and makes her a surrogate mother of her child with the Hulk. There is an extended sequence where she almost dies trying to bed the Hulk. Rated NC 17, with special allowances for 13 year old comic book fans, only if they can prove they have every comic book home media. And also because this film will struggle to find an audience without said 13 year olds.

Directed by Zack Snyder of course. There is a q and a afterwords about the academic meaning of this film. And if anybody was tempted to laugh and how comedy is bad for your health.

We can definitely do with some superhero sitcoms though I reckon. Black widow is a single woman working in Flushing, Queens when her boyfriend kicked her out in one of those crushing scenes

You missed a lesson by DC fans on how the actors themselves do not understand the characters they portrays and its story-lines, complexities, philosophical messages etc.

Imo a Black Widow movie doesn't need to be anymore serious than Civil War. There was plenty of levity in that film. It doesn't need to have a punch line after every sentence.

That being said, I would be down for a full blown comedy like the Marvel one shots.

Hot take: do we even need a Black Widow movie? Personally, I wish the people (rightfully) thirsty for better representation would stop showering this mildly interesting supporting character with so much love.

Oh no no no we can't say that friend. You see, Marvel is just sexist, it is not that all their good female characters are owned by other studios. :3

Romance? She pretty much tried to have him killed in Civil War. Can't see it happening now.

Barnes tried to kill Natasha three times. In TWS she recounted how he killed a scientist by shooting the man thru her abdomen. Later in that movie he tried to blow her up, then shot her again and she almost bled out. In CW he almost choked her to death. After all.of that, there's no way Natasha would or should want anything to do with Barnes. (And no, being brainwashed doesn't make those assaults go away.)

Natasha seems to have a thing for guys who try to kill her... make of that what you will.

Mmmm... not quite all. With the possible exception of Storm, the team girls from X-Men and FF aren't really great for solos. Marvel still has Captain Marvel, Wasp, Valkyrie, She-Hulk and Spider-Woman, proven soloers in addition to storied teamers with better solo potential like Spectrum, Scarlet Witch and yes, Black Widow.

We don't, actually, but it's what people are calling for because she's been in our eye for 7+ years with the understanding that she's got a lot going on we don't see, so that sort of makes her de facto interesting, like a movie that has a new trailer every two years but somehow never comes out. Because of that weird unfulfilled promise you actually can't "replace" a BW movie with another female hero movie... maybe with two or three though, maybe...

You rascally genius, you. :awesome

Taika is still not talking about a "comedy" any more than the rest of the MCU. He's talking about something "zany" that's a bit funnier than we would expect. He's talking about giving Widow the Kingsman, nay, the Guardians of the Galaxy treatment. In fact... I think that's it. Imagine Gamora was the main character of Guardians of the Galaxy... *that's* the Black Widow movie he's talking about.

Well, in my case, I'm actually a fan of Black Widow, not (just?) "thirsty for representation". She's my second favorite character in the MCU, and as it is I'm not watching half their movies because I'm not interested in who they're selling, so even a Hawkeye movie would be preferable.

I've said it several times before, I'd love a Shane Black/Black Widow film. The Long Kiss Goodnight practically was a Black Widow film as is. You get the gritty spy stuff with the witty banter and an actual character.

Hulk did almost kill her while brainwashed. That seemed to turn her on, cause in the next film she was randomly in love with him . Also she did a lot of bad stuff in her past, should she not understand Bucky's situation more than any body? Bringing Black Panther to the airport fight, knowing full well he was out for Bucky's blood was not a very Avengers thing to do. Its just inconsistent writing for the character.

People want the same feeling they got from 2000s spy fare (because it was awesome) and they don't know that that ship has sailed. Asking for spy films like Bourne Identity is like asking for superhero films like Spider-Man 2... sounds nice, but those techniques are cliche now.

The Spy genre needs a NEW Bourne, who does for the genre what Bourne did, and what Kingsman did in the first one. Since they seem to have lost their vein in the sequel, that leaves Black Widow in a place where she can reinvent the genre... but she can't do that chasing Alias and Nikita. She's got to be far more relevant. She has to show the people something *new* or else she's just Atomic Redhead - which is awesome, but not very popular or interesting to most. If Black Widow is the kind of movie to be succesful, like Bourne, like Kingsman, then it will be a film that others attempt to pattern themselves after, and they'll be calling for Bond and Eggsy to be more like Black Widow, not the other way around.

You're talking about desires, I was talking about expectations. When the First Avenger came out, I wanted a gritty and epic Superhero War Drama. What I got was a corny semi sci-fi Rom-Com.
By The Time The Avengers came out, I expected more of the same and not things that I actually desire to see from these characters.

hahaha! Both the Bourne franchise and Raimi's Spidey franchise suck in my book so those were just poor examples to use. That doesn't sound nice at all. In fact, reading that made my face cringe.
We don't need a new Bourne, We need a new Hunt, Powers or Tasker.
I still haven't seen the Kingsman sequel but what did the first one do that so special?...To me it was just a more stylish, violent/comical version of old school James Bond.

I got the idea of what you want out of Black Widow but my point is, with the MCU/Disney Formulaic pattern that hasn't changed since 2008. Do you as a fan really expect to get what you wanna see out of a Black Widow film?...
I know that I personally would love a Black Widow movie somewhere in the vein of Spy Games and True Lies but I know thats not what I'm gonna get so I know not to expect that. You know what I mean?
