And I do find it amusing that one of the big defenses for why Marvel hasn't done a female-led film yet is "well none of their female characters are well-known enough to carry their own film, unless they're X-Men ones who are owned by Fox." And yet, when you have a character who has become known to the audience (thus solving that problem), suddenly the argument is "well we've seen her in too many movies, give a new character her own film." So which is it, because those two ideas are completely contradictory?
I'm much more interesting in seeing a cool BW film than yet another Thor film, or Ant-Man, or whatever. It's long overdue, and it would seem like even the Russo's think so.
Everyones sexist. That's what the problem is.
jk...
In reality, Black widow has been in more films than even Hulk so far. So yes, she has had a lot of screen time. However, she hasn't had a solo yet. I'm not against the idea of a solo, it just seems that the only solo people seem to want is one that goes back to her origin, when we don't NEED her origin. We have already been told what's important and can be told anything else that is needed. We have seen some of the program in Agent Carter even.
I would love a solo movie, but I don't see her having a great solo other than an origin. Which means since it is going back to the past and not pushing more story for the current MCU, and is unneccissary, it would just be taking the spot of a movie that could introduce a new character, event, etc. and make the Universe greater.
I would wan't a Black Widow movie before an Iron Man 4 though... which apparently RD Jr now wants.
