Blade reboot coming???

As for casting i'm not sure how I feel about Wesley coming back. He's kinda old, and i've read so much about his attitude on set. It makes me bitter and takes me out of the movie. But maybe he's more humble now that his career is over.

If it wasn't for Snipes and Norrington Blade wouldn't be what he is today. Goyer gets way too much credit for his writing but it was Snipes who gives Blade his Bladeness(Coolness). A lot of times Snipes would cut out lines that he thought were not part of Blade's personality. Like he was supposed to cry in the first movie.

Snipes contributions gets overlooked as well to the movies especially in the first 2. He helped design some of the cool weapons in the flicks like Sword boobietrap and the Blade Boomerang in part 2. Also it was Snipes bringing in his Martials Arts team to make the fights in the movies notch ahead of other actions movies that were out at the time. Snipes put a lot of passion into the first 2 films all you have to listen to the commentarys. He even got hurt making the movies and can no longer do the things he used to do martial arts wise.

As of right now Snipes might be too out of shape to play Blade last time I saw him he was looking kind of chunky at the Mayweather vs De La Hoya fight. So I don't think they need a restart. Maybe do an animated version but rated R for HBO, Adult Swim, and give Snipes the option to do the voicing of the character.

I can't argue with you there. Wesley defenitely made those movies. But like you said he looks out of shape.

We need a new blade with a new writer. Or a director who can spot and cut out Goyer's, cheesey lines.

Let's hear some Blade casting guys. I'm drawing a blank.

LOL! The Sticky Fingaz returns, I don't think he was that bad.

he sucked as blade, I think they should have used Omar Epps for the t.v. series, but the show was so bad no one could have saved it, I say just release a better version of the blade trinity I know there is one out there somewhere.

I would rather they do a Blade 4, honestly. If they have to, have to recast so be it. I think they're are a lot of characters they have yet to do in the franchise. A nice Werewold by Night or Marc Spector crossover could be cool.

I don't think movie characters should ever cross over.
I'm not saying make a Moon Knight movie and cross it over with Blade. I'm saying, for a fourth Blade Movie, it could be cool to include Marc Spector and a few supporting cast members. Maybe do a werewolf/vampire team up. They are gonna need a new hook to keep the franchise alive following Dracula's death.

I say if they were to do a fourth movie I say don't even mention the tv series and start the movie right after the third movie.

Oh, that's no fun. I get half my enjoyment out of thinking about what it would be like if these characters met. During Fantastic Four 2 I couldn't help but say about Reed that "This guy's really nice. It kind of makes you forget that he's the *****e that imrpisoned half the marvel universe." ...I like to think about what a movie Civil War would be like.:woot:

Civil War. There was a law passed that meant everybody with super powers had to register with the government and give up their secret identities. It pretty much split the Marvel Universe in half and Reed Richards worked with the government with Tony Stark/Iron Man pretty much being the spokesperson for the whole "register: it's the law" thing. Reed built this prison in the negative zone where everybody who refused to register was held.

Eventually the government won and the repercussions are still being felt to this day. Iron Man's the director of SHIELD, Captain America's dead, The Fantastic Four split up for a while, there's a team of Supervillains consisting of Venom, Bullseye, and the Green Goblin working for the government, all kinds of crazy stuff. Check it out.

Does anyone else think Blade is kind of a waste of time at this point?

They're only now just getting around to a lot of major characters; I think Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Doctor Strange etc deserve more of marvel's time, money and effort than Blade.

More like 9, it hasn't quite been 10 years yet. I'm not sure when Michael Jai White became a credible actor all of the sudden.

Robert DeNiro = credible actor.

Matt Damon = credible actor.

Joan Allen = credible actor.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman = credible actor.

Michael Jai White has been in some pretty bad films, but with a great director, I believe that he could be good. In his recent flick, he was definitely credible.

That doesn't make him a credible actor. He's a definition C-lister. I'm sorry if that's mean but it's the truth.

Who needs a reboot?

Blade had three movies and a TV series. We don't need it all over again.

Let's have something new for a change, rather than rehashing everything we've had already.

I disagree. I think the characters you listed deserve attention of course.

But Blade in my opinion started the comic movie trend because the first one was so great. Pretty much paving the way for the rest.

I love the Blade character, and hope a reboot will happen. Don't give up on him yet guys. Keep hope alive.:woot:

The reason Marvel is focusing on the bigger franchises is because they sell more toys, video games, merchandise etc...The movie theatrical release is just a tool to sell everything else, and then eventually the DVD's. That's why you hear about how these are billion dollar franchises even though they don't make that much at the movies. They generate that much revenue. If Marvel were to make Blade they'd have to spend no less than 65 million on it per the financing agreement. Considering the lackluster response to Trinity...they probably would rather focus their efforts elsewhere or sell the rights to someone else which I don't think they'll ever do again.

They just should just do something different with the character, maybe a blade comic that doesn't feature so many othe heroes in it, but he's supporting cast
