Blade Runner 2049 - Part 1

I think it looks great. Deakins working his magic again (how the hell does he not have an Oscar yet?!).

And with Villeneuve directing it's safe to say that this sequel will at least attempt to be interesting.

I think the big revelation will be that replicants have been slowly taking over the human race... but they all still believe they are humans. The only real humans left will be powerful figures. Probably more to it than that.

Who is Dealings? :o

Dealings is Replicant #4. Oscar in coming for that once in a life time performance.

Typical :cmad:

But yea loved their work on Sicario. Those helicopter shots following the convoy into Mexico were amazing.

This film looks absolutely astonishing - a feast for the eyes. Reminds me of how Gareth Edwards wanted every frame of Rogue One to look like a painting, except one-hundred fold. I got chills from the Blade Runner music in the very beginning.

Leto looks like he might deliver a good performance under Denis. Gosling also looks very good.

SWEET BABY JESUS.

You'd better not **** this up Warner Bros. Bladerunner is literally my childhood and my number one movie. I'm already considering the fact that making a sequel is a big mistake and you better prove me wrong. If you pump out some pg13 ******** with no depth, ****** music choices, a cliched plot and all of the requirements for a sellout blockbuster ****fest I will boycott everything you ever do.

No pressure. Sincerely, a Bladerunner fan.
:funny:

I think nearly every BR fan feels something similar.

Can I just say, as someone who doesnt like the original movie (I've seen it twice but just couldnt get into it) this looks absolutely fantastic. Wow, what a visual feast and that synth score, I love the atmospheric vibe of this. I've loved Villaneuve's work thus far and I think this may be his finest.

I wish the trailer had kept the synth sound throughout instead of switching to the generic movie trailer music at the end, it kind of took me out of the vibe, but its a small nitpick. This movie is officially one of my most anticipated this year.

The old trailer was better, honestly. It didn't have this ******** music in the second half of the trailer.

Also, looks like Bautista is playing that poor replicant - first victim of Gosling. From a scene, that was initially written for the first film.

Again, this looks like it could be its own movie and not necessarily a sequel. I just love how it's doing its own thing. It's not just L.A. There's Vegas, and a snowy landscape. EVen the characters who we thought might have been in certain types look to be subversive like Boutista. He could be a replicant, but I like how he's wearing glasses and more nervous and not what you expect from his type. He's not just Leon 2.0.

Goddamn, I am hyped.

Like pretty much everyone has said fantastic trailer. Very excited. That's all.

I REALLY hope it's that scene. Hampton Fancher has spoken about his love for the 'soup' scene when he wrote it for the original film so if has been brought to life for BR 2049 then colour me excited!

I love the first film. But I can get why some people don't like it. Even for me I have to be in a certain mood to sit down and watch it. Kinda like Apocalypse Now.

That scene where Ford is running, he looks so feeble. It makes sense of course given his age, but then he wants to play Indiana Jones in 2019 :funny:

Jokes aside, trailer looks cool. I had no idea Dave Bautista was in this.

I can only speak for myself but I dont mind slow movies and methodical pacing but if the protagonist im following isnt compelling then the movie becomes laborious to me. Ford's very muted performance in BR is probably what deflated the movie for me. I had this same problem with Drive, too.
