Well yea he is a wanker. But I can separate the person from the performance on screen.
This is not impossible, but Leto makes it extra hard with how he goes about it, as he draws attention to it. Especially when you can see him "acting" in the movies. There isn't a lot of disappearing. Its how odd is Leto going to be this time now.

I love the cranky old grandpa Ridley. :funny:

Directors Ridley Scott and Denis Villeneuve were at BFI IMAX for a special Evening with Blade Runner event ahead of BladeRunner2049

He's like the Nick Saban of film directors. :D

Yea I get what you're saying. He definitely makes it hard.

He wants to be like a Daniel Day Lewis. Difference is Day Lewis completely shunned the limelight and never popped up in the press unless he was promoting a film or accepting an award. Leto wants to be a method actor who disappears into roles... But he wants everyone to know all about it and how artful and quirky he is.

But anyway... am I the only one who was really impressed with Batista in his short? He's really progressed as an actor I think. I mean don't get me wrong I love Dwayne Johnson, but I can't see him giving a softer, more melancholic performance like that in a million years. I respect Batista for trying something a little more subtle than you'd expect. Plus it still had him kicking ass when the time came.

Exactly! If you have to tell people you're artful and quirky, you aren't artful and quirky. What you are is a *****e.

Not at all. I said something earlier in the thread about how I feel the acting classes Bautista has been taking are clearly paying off. I was quite impressed.

I really want to see him succeed and be known as an actor... not wrestler turned actor. Seems like a really cool bloke and he's clearly passionate about the whole thing.

I kinda agree. And apparently the poor dude is DEATHLY shy, so I think it's awesome he can overcome that to do what he does.

So, is it just me, or does it seem like Leto's ******** started right after his Oscar win?

Na hes always been a pretentious twerp. Maybe the Oscar amplified it though lol.

Probably the scene with Kylo Ren, but before that, no idea.

"Age of Adaline" is a bad movie, but Ford if actually great in it. "42". I've been really impressed with the range he's put out there in the last ten years.

That is the look of maniacal enthusiam folks. Forget the women, hes been quite radiant lately as you can see here;

He was also directing traffic the other day. I admit I like his sense of humor though.

He's never disappointed me in a role and is just really likable. I've never been into wrestling so for me he is an actor first and foremost. It's the same with the Rock. I think of him purely as an actor.

A side note, I'm hoping if Bane is ever in a Batman film again that the director will choose Batista for the role. He'd be great as Bane.

I really am impressed by the improvements he's made by taking acting classes. I guess those things can actually work if you put the time in. I always saw acting as something you could either do or you couldn't, but apparently, like most skilled jobs, if you put in the time and effort to improve, acting is no different.

Things aren't looking too good for Joi if she crosses paths with Luv. I bet she dies there, and later on K has a melancholy moment with the large purple hologram of her thinking about all the loss of life his actions has caused.

I could easily see Bautista as Bane.

Absolutely love seeing Dave get some plaudits and I personally never got the whole wrestler-turned-actor stigma thing - I mean, plenty of excellent actors over the years have had different professions before they decided to get into acting, yet I don't see anyone ever saying 'they cant be a good actor because they used to be a milkman, cook, delivery driver etc'. Why is the fact that they were a wrestler relevant when being a milkman, cook, delivery driver etc. isn't? A good actor is a good actor. A bad actor is a bad actor. What does their previous profession have to do with it?

The subtle music here is spot on..

Enjoy that while it lasts, might get taken down cause I don't see it anywhere else and its titled 2024.
