Armas too? I thought she's a crappy actress, even though gorgeous.

Holy hell 2:44 slow film. They're gonna evacuate sleeping theaters. 2 hours of the original Blade Runner put people to sleep. But 3 hours...

That 2:44 includes over ten minutes of credits. Getting sick of people saying its 3 hours when its more like 2 and a half. This is basically a directors cut and i'm glad we are getting the definitive vision instead of having to wait years for a final cut.

The theatres ain't gonna be happy about that runtime so expect about four showings per day all stretched far apart at weird times.

Deadstroke, serious question: are 13 year old? You sure act like a person of that age.

No need to be so sensitive. I personally enjoy slow and lengthy films. Doesn't change the fact that majority of movie goers don't.

Obviously this kinda praise upsets OutofBoose.

In all seriousness....WB...thank you for letting the film be 2hrs 44 mins. If thats whats required then great. Now do the same for DC films.

Lol.

Getting that upset about that comment? A little ribbing after countless posts you made claiming he'd be terrible?
Sensitivity and 13 year old talk might need to be asked to the mirror sir.

BLADE RUNNER 2049 plays like the One Perfect Shot twitter came to life for two hours and 43 minutes

BLADE RUNNER 2049 is everything I look for in a man: Strong, beautiful, has issues

It feels that *elongated*

And that deliberate approach will either strike viewers as ridiculous or sublime. But it's distinctive, for sure.

I'm not upset about that comment, nor I'm upset that Leto is good in the film (assuming he is). I'm upset that you can't get off my back. Is it something personal?

Ok dude. As I said just move along and focus on the movie.

Lol. You're asking him to move along when it was you who out of nowhere decided to take a little dig at him :lmao:

It wasn't mean spirited at all. Just looks like he might be wrong about something he spent a lot of posts claiming could ruin the film.

He got very defensive and sensitive about it.
So I said lets move along *shrugs*

I thought it'd be good to put all 3 prequel short movies in one post.

Holy crap...I had a feeling that the film would be good, but I didn't expect the reviews to be THIS positive. The cat from Fandango even says it's better than the original. Several people are calling it a masterpiece, but what really impresses me is that these folks that have seen it are still wanting to talk about it a few days later. That's what I really wanted out of this movie...a thought provoking film that left you discussing it for days.

Short thingy about Joi
Interesting. This may confirm what someone (who's claimed to have attended a test screening) told me:
that Joi is essentially an advanced hologram. You can see in a number of shots that she is translucent.

Denis Villeneuve’s “Blade Runner 2049” had its first screenings for press the other day, and while full reviews are not yet allowed – first social media reactions are now out.
Here’s a sampling of the reactions from the journalists and critics in attendance, and the word is incredible with labels of it being a sci-fi masterpiece and one that could even be an awards contender. Certainly, the response is overwhelmingly positive:
“Blade Runner 2049 is stunning visually. Some truly inspired moments. Not sure as a story it 100% works? Lower those expectations a tad. Villeneuve has some truly masterful sequences, deserves best director nod consideration. And no joke Harrison Ford is fantastic, best supporting actor nod is not a reach. Deakins, Prod Design and Visual Effects? Major, major player.” – Gregory Ellwood, The Playlist
“#BladeRunner2049 was one of the most mind-blowing films I’ve seen. It’s breathtaking and transportive. Denis Villeneuve has a masterpiece.” – Jenna Busch, Coming Soon
“BLADE RUNNER 2049 is sci-fi masterpiece; the kind of deep-cut genre film we don’t see anymore. Visually mindblowing, absolutely fantastic… I think this Blade Runner is better than the original, and also proves Denis Villeneuve is the most exciting director working right now.” – Erik Davis, Fandango
“.@BladeRunner 2049 is phenomenal. Visually mind-blowing sci-fi w/ noir roots shining through in a tight, twisty mystery. Best of 2017 so far” – Eric Eisenberg, Cinema Blend
“Early word on BLADE RUNNER 2049 is very strong. Doubt Denis Villeneuve at your own peril, people.” – Scott Wampler, Birth Movies Death
“Good news! BLADE RUNNER 2049 is a terrific continuation and expansion of the orig. Wasn’t hoping for much, ended up LOVING it. (Even Leto!).” – Jordan Hoffman, The Guardian
“I’ve seen Blade Runner 2049 and it was great. Visually stunning, emotionally engaging in a way I didn’t expect. And that’s all I can say” – Jim Vejvoda, IGN
“I saw #BladeRunner2049 and it is BREATHTAKING. It’s an impressive follow-up, preserving mysteries, adding new ones, expanding the universe.” – William Bibbiani, Crave Online
“#BladeRunner2049 is a rare sequel that actually improves on the original. Great Performances & Visually Breathtaking. Villeneuve nails it.” – Scott Menzel, We Live Entertainment
“Everyone bow down to Denis Villeneuve. He’s done the impossible and delivered a huge home run with ‘Blade Runner 2049’. Loved it. You do not have to have seen the original ‘Blade Runner’ to watch ‘Blade Runner 2049’. But it will def make the film better if you have.” – Steve Weintraub, Collider
“Our own @JimmytotheO calls @bladerunner “Astonishing… More than just a visual wonder, it’s a groundbreaking science fiction masterpiece.” – JoBlo.com

Read somewhere that Ford said he and Scott finally came to an agreement whether or not Deckard is a replicant. Only someone like Ford could get in the face of their director and disagree with him about something that he himself wrote. :funny:

The runtime is not gonna be a problem if the pacing is good but both Arrival and Prisoners, in spite of Jackman being in it, almost put me in a coma

Prisoners was edge of a seat experience. It remains my favorite of Villeneuve and I consider it one of the best thrillers of 2010s. But Arrival and Sicario put me in coma indeed.

My concern is, i can easily endure a long film if the characters are engaging and the acting is charismatic. Arrival, Sicario and Prisoners were long but had engaging, charismatic leads to carry us through the story with a strong emotional undercurrent. Gosling here looks like he's playing his Drive character: stone-faced and emotionally cold and that could make the movie FEEL long for me.
