Is anyone else waiting for this to happen in the near future?? Hasn't New Line Cinema lost the rights to the character a while back??
I personally think that since Marvel being owned by Disney is a factor, we wouldn't ever get a new Blade movie due to the graphic nature of the content. I would also love to see Morbius in it taking on Blade.

But then again, we did get Deadpool and Logan, with their R ratings even though they aren't included in the same universe. So it could be possible.

No. Marvel might use him, or they might not. It depends on a lot of things, and is nowhere near certain.

I want 'full-on' blood 'n' guts Blade or not at all. And I want him on the big screen.

Disney won't make adult movies set within the MCU. If you want R-rated then it'll probably be on a cable network/streaming service or not at all.

Do you think Disney would go for a non-MCU standalone?

Eventually they'll likely do stuff like that. May even create a Marvel Knights film line one day. The Netflix stuff is R-level stuff so I see no reason why a film couldn't be like that.

That'd be good. I've not got any interest in a Blade TV series.

Netflix would be the best bet at this point, I don't want a watered down Blade. It will just be tough to replace Wesley.

Mainly because they have no reason to. Why make an R-rated movie that doesn't fit with your movie panoply, when you can have Netflix do it, where it *does* fit?

Yes but eventually they'll start wanting to explore different aspects of the Marvel catalogue. Not everything darker has be designated to Netflix, especially if they see film potential. Midnight Sons, Hit-Monkey, Blade could be both, etc.

I can't really think of any part of the Marvel catalog that both demands an R-rating and couldn't be done well on a Netflix budget. Aside from *maybe* Ghost Rider, and even he doesn't really *demand* an R-rating.

I'd like a Netflix series, you can have rated R mature storylines, and stretched out over 13 episodes at a time. now that Marvel proper owns the Blade rights, it is very risky to come up with an R-based feature film, despite the success of Wolverine and Deadpool.

If Snipes comes back as an older Blade, and possibly introducing his daughter (if that's even canonical anymore)-- we'll see.

It honestly sucks that Ghost Rider is already a part of Agents of Shield, since I would have really liked to see, the Midnight Sons team with with the NightStalkers. Maybe a storyline that evolves into seeing Lilith as like the main antagonist.

In my "Perfect World", I would go for Michael Jai White.

Even for an actor pushing his 50's he still has the physicality and range required for a Blade film.

Netflix is their best chance. Let's hope, if it does happen, it is Rated R. I don't know how they would portray characters like Lilith and her Lillin as PG-13. One of her kids lives in the skin of his victims, and the other is a narcissistic vampire assassin.

Yeah I don't know how you could push that with a PG-13 rating. Netflix or Rated R film.

Blade and Ghost Rider JC getting a Netflix treatment like Dd, E and Tp would be very cool!

I'm not sure Netflix would cough up the money required to do either. Might have to be premium cable. They seem high end but they cost less than CW shows.

Well their Netflix Marvel shows look budget TV. But aren't Marvel Television and ABC studios doing the funding while Netflix just stream and market them? Wouldn't be a bad idea for all three companies to give Gr and B a higher budget.

Actually....a YouTube series wouldn't be bad at all!! Remember what Machinima did for Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter?

I have seen those But those were like indie fan made projects. But Marvel? ABC studios? Netflix? They certainly have more cash to spend and they have a bigger fanbase and public attention. Being demoted to TV is already as a disadvantage IMO, but putting Blade and GR JC for a YouTube series would be a bigger downgrade. As of now, YouTube doesn't have a prestige recognition when it comes to original drama shows as far as I know unlike Netflix.

Well true but there is Youtube Red which is primarily designed to make big budget series'. I don't like ABC STUDIOS as an option since you would have to censor a lot of the stuff that Blade is known for. Perhaps Netflix or Hulu, I am all for that.
