Blades of Glory (if you like the Ferrell, you'll love this)

Oh,God Hunter,I love your avvy so very much.
*heart races*

As much as I love Ferrell, Arnett is my main reason for wanting to see this movie. If that one scene with him in the trailer is any kind of indication of what's to come, Arnett looks like he'll be branding the same kind of comedy into this character as he did Gob. And that's more than fine with me.

 There is a short bit in the trailer of Arnett and Ferrell using furniture as swords, Arnett uses a stuffed pelican :D

Once you've seen one Ferrell comedy you've seen them all.

There are exceptions, ala Stranger Than Fiction, and Melinda and Melinda.

But, mostly you can sum up his movie like this:

Will Ferrell coaches soccer...

Will Ferrell is a Nascar driver...

Will Ferrell goes to college...

Will Ferrell anchors the news...

Will Ferrell ice skates...

No thanks.

with all due respect, that's one of the dumbest things i've read in a while.

you can "sum up" any movie, starring any actor, that same way:

al pacino is an aspiring drug dealer...

arnold schwartzenegger is a robot from the future...

etc, etc...

No, he's saying that it's just Will Ferrel playing himself in each movie. He's not trying to be a different character, he's just playing the same character but in different situations. Learn how to read.

you learn how to read,

that might be what he meant, but that is not what he said. there's a difference.

I'm sorry. I'll ask the mods to post a sticky about not using figures of speech, sarcasm or humor in posts anymore.

His formula is starting to become increasinlgy apparent but unlike Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler who are in the same rut (comedy-wise for Carrey anyways), Farrell's movies are actually funny.

But to be fair he does try new things like off the top of my head Stranger Than Fiction or The Producers. But I agree, this is a little rehash but if it's funny I won't mind though.

Calm down, most people were able to figure out what he meant, in either case even if you didn't, it doesn't mean you have to be rude about it.

i honestly wasn't trying to be rude... i was actually watching talladega nights when i wrote that, and the part that had just played was when ricky bobby told whoever that guy was "with all due respect, i had no idea you had that surgery to have your balls removed." so it seemed appropriate.

i thought that in a will ferrell thread more people would have caught it, but maybe i need to work on my smiley skills or something... like this:

It looks highly amusing, but the Jon Heder role was oh-so-clearly written for Owen Wilson.

me too! i love will ferrell i feel like talledega nights came out eons ago. i am sooo excited to see this this weekend! he is by far one of my favorite comedians and i think this looks hilarious.

This movie could very well end up being the best movie ever made. Aside from Highlander, of course.

hmmmmmm perhaps a Neil Diamond biopic starring Herr Farrell is gestating in the gray matter of someone who could effectively bring it to fruition?
