I'm not arguing that this man's death wasn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong, so don't accuse me of such before reading on, but how is it that whenever someone dies from a drunk driver, people get all riled up about how "I think drunk drivers that kill should get life in prison no questions asked or parol," and yet whenever, whenever, WHENEVER the sorrow and the sheer anger rolls away (after a time, different for all people) we're back to getting all philosophical about it. WHERE is all this anger then? Where?
And, after I post there will come the obligatory "Superhobo, you're stupid/don't know what ur talking about/etc.," posts, but my point stands. This is how it is here.
I myself did not know this man. I DO KNOW a lot of people who are or were drunk drivers at some point in their life. You're all acting like this is some evil, evil man, who spills bile from his shirt when he spits. No. People get drunk.
People will drive when they get drunk, unless they are responsible. And, let me tell you, when you drink, to the excess where you do go out and drive at that point, you don't have a lot of inhibitions about doing such. And, if you're with friends of the same vein, they're not, as much as television, propaganda, and what have you stress, going to try and stop you. I've been present at such. No one did get hurt, except for the driver, and he was alright afterwards. But my point stands. You know what his friends did? Two told him to "go for it," and they weren't even drunk, and the other three didn't say anything at all. Examples from real life.
And, here come the posts from the 'designated drivers' on here...
