Bodybuilder ambushes suspected bank robber, breaks his ribs

i think he was showing off, ..... im sure the guys ribs didnt need to be broken, its not like he was going to hurt anyone.

doesnt seem like justice to me.

If i wanted to rob a bank i shouldnt be beat up afterwards

Yes...yes you should.

I probably would've tried to break his nose, or cripple his legs. He got off light.

LOL! Some of you are actually feeling sorry for a serial bank robber who finally had karma catch up with him? If he didn't want to get hurt, he shouldn't have been robbing banks. He's lucky that's all he got instead of being shot by the police.

police dont shoot for robbing a bank...

common

I can understand wanting to stop a crook, but he's sounding like he took some pleasure in beating the **** out of him. If you can stop somebody with minimal force, I would think that's the way to go. He just sounds nuts.

.....................

The guy came out with cuts and bruises, too.
"I was basically trying to hurt him enough to get him to stop, to get him to the ground and to quit fighting."

He succeeded, actually breaking the man's ribs in the process when the man wouldn't succumb.

What? Didn't you read the article or the guy is your family or something?

Uhh....yes, they do. We had a bank robber get shot by the police a couple months ago in my town. He wouldn't stop when they told him to freeze and he tried to reach into his pocket which made the cops think he was going for a gun. Turned out it was his car keys and he was unarmed. Lucky for him they just shot him in the leg.

Like I said, this jackass is lucky that a broken rib or two is all he got.

Oh, I get it, this is more about you just hating jocks and bodybuilders than it is about you feeling sorry for the bank robber. Interesting.

He'd be awesome for a Gears of War movie.

no i feel sorry for the robber.....

hes a robber.. not a rapist, killer, he doesnt hurt people..... he COULD but i dont think its in his interest.
Jail should be the punishment... not a beating.. by a show off muscle head... plus jail after you recover from broken ribs and cuts..

Seriously. The guy works hard for the body he has, as do I and jag. I don't work out so guys like this could take advantage of me. Sounds to me like many of you are just jealous.

He hurts the people whose money he steals.

Why wouldn't he enjoy stopping a criminal? I would! It's a good deed. I don't see the problem.

What are you bellyachin' about? The busted rib? Because I don't see anything in the article about "perpetrator was beaten senseless to a pulpy mess." Like the others have said, it's no big deal. Consider it a little karmic payback for all the anguish he's caused other people.

lol, if the guy murdered people I'd understand the beat down, but just looking to score cash? Simply taking the guy down and putting him into a locked position until police arrive would have been sufficient.

He hurts the people whose money he steals.

...The government? :huh::huh::huh:

not to mention that had he not stopped him, that same robber may have later killed his uncle.

Murder and bank robbery are both felonies last time I checked. And this guy apparently had built up a record. There isn't some rule out there that it's okay to beat down rapists and murders, but robbers get a pass somehow. The guy was breaking the law, enough for the FBI to be tracking him. This man, Todd, did a public service by beating him into submission. He stopped a man from stealing someone else's money from a bank.

And we don't know that this guy wouldn't have killed someone, or raped someone down the line gone unchecked. He was already breaking the law and deserved to be caught.

Lucky for him a radioactive steroid syringe had bitten him months before to give him added strength and bulk thus potentially saving his uncle's life.;)

That part of the story...sadly...is completely true.

Yeah, "I was basically trying to hurt him enough". I'm pretty sure tripping the guy and keeping him to the ground would have worked. Then again nothing is that neat in real life. Regardless, 'sall I'm trying to say.

Still, kudos on taking down the guy.

How many people here would have been "gentle" in this situation. I'm sure if it was you taking the robber down, you wouldn't think to yourself, "well I don't want to hurt him, that might hurt hs feelings"... broken ribs don't hurt that bad, been there done that.

He wasn't stealing from individuals, he was stealing from banks! Taking a life and taking money aren't in the same league. I'm not saying he should get a free pass, but being brutal is something that should be reserved for pricks who inflict pain on others.
