Books that deserve film adaptions.

Salem's Lot. :o:up:

I'd say The Stand and It too, but I think they may work better as miniseries. But good miniseries.

It Can't Happen Here
Sinclair Lewis

If This Goes On
Robert Heinlein

The Sprawl trilogy
William Gibson

Accelerando
Charles Stross

anything that they make you read in school....
..not because they would make a good movie but because it's easier than reading those ****** books.

"Deserve" is an interesting term to use here. I'd like to see a movie adaptation of Meg, but I couldn't say it deserves that. It's not all that well written...I just want to see a 90-foot shark in a competently made movie.

the unschooled wizard by barbara hambly.
the songs of distant earth by arthur c. clarke,.
ringworld by larry niven.
the keep by F. Paul Wilson (a good take on it this time)
Iceburg by Clive Cussler

The Shannara Series by Terry Brooks. WB even optioned "The Wishsong of Shannara" but that has recently expired.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny.
Excellent mix if science and magic

This. I've read all the books in the series and though not well written and original it would make a nice popcorn flick. I thought they had some of it done, but ended up being yanked or something.

The vampire series from Laura H. Hamilton the Anita Blake series. Ya,I know theres a boatload of them books now,but could do a few of them.

Halsey's Typhoon,In Harms Way,and The Last of the Tin Man;all are WWII navy books though maybe not deserving it would be interesting to watch.

Why none of the Forgotten Realms novels or a DragonLance novels have never been touched...I cannot even guess. At least for live action I mean.
