I always love me some Star Lord. We now know why he got the pivotal "And" in the credits. [BLACKOUT]Comes up with the brilliant plan but then becomes the reason Thanos gets the other stones. [/BLACKOUT]

Pratt was very fun when he had to be and serious too.

I don't think that had anything to do with it. That was probably just what his agent negotiated.

Regardless, [BLACKOUT]he royally f***ed up. It was so frustrating seeing that the Gauntlet was almost off of Thanos until Quill lost his cool. He would have had all the time in the world to interrogate Thanos about Gamora after they got it off. Hell, he could have even helped Tony and Peter get it off, but noooooo...

But I guess the one outcome where they win that Doctor Strange saw involved that happening, so I suppose it had to happen.[/BLACKOUT]

It was partly his agent and story, just seems like the character that changes the story around gets that part and they are considered a cameo.

[BLACKOUT]He is an emotional guy though, funny how Stark was trying to calm him down. Stark went bat s*** in Civil War after finding out the secret. They are both emotionally impulsive people. Nebula should have tried to hold him back since she was not doing anything but standing. She too could have helped take the gauntlet off but she was not there for the plan. It had to happen this way though like Strange said. [/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]Yeah, Stark was berating people left and right for doing stuff that he's been guilty of a bunch of times in the past. See also: Stark scolding Peter Parker for making pop culture references. :o [/BLACKOUT]

I really enjoyed him in this, but damn there was too much Guardians. Hopefully they don't dominate so much in A4.

[BLACKOUT]They probably won't considering there's only one left. Two if you really want to count Nebula. Not that they'll all be gone forever but I don't think they'll be brought back right away in A4.[/BLACKOUT]

Well since[BLACKOUT] most of them died they shouldn't. Rocket has always been on his own path which is pretty neat. He will finally get the chance to lead but he lost all of his friends and yondu in the last movie. I don't think Rocket will die but perhaps be set up as a leader after GOTG3. Nebula has to play a big role. Drax, Quill, and Mantis likely return with everyone near the end with the final battle. [/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]Stark[/BLACKOUT] is a "do what I say not what I do" kind of person, apparently.

If Star Lord had tapped into his Celestial powers which he inherited from Ego in Vol. 2 then he would be even more of a bad ass but does he even still have those powers at all?

He mentioned being half human. Perhaps he still has trace amounts of celestial.

If he did have his Celestial powers then he could have put up even more of a fight against Thanos

He's really good in this.
But I pray he has a smaller role in A4. This has to be Avengers, not a Guardians film.

Yeah I know right but then again Quill is somewhat integral because of his connection to Gamora

They got screentime because when else are you going to have Guardians interact with Avengers? That was a major selling point.

Indeed, but Star Lord had more than Cap and BW. Hopefully in A4, the Guardians have a far smaller role. If that's the case, then it's great we had so much in this film only.

I think they made it like this because the originals should have majority of the screen time in A4. They likely won't be splitting up on adventures like this either.

Not really, I can understand not seeing someone's personal favorites but with Thanos, his daughters plus Quill being in love with Gamora there is no way you could just breeze past all that. Maybe you could argue taking Rocket and Groot away from Thor but that team up was pretty awesome and brought something new.

Cap, T'Challa and their crew were just there to protect Vision. That's basically all it is to their stories. Save Vision. GOTG on the other hand have too many emotional ties and plot beats that need to happen with our main baddie. Those could not have been replaced without forcing direct ties to Thanos and other Avengers into space.

I really loved Star-Lord in this. Chris Pratt is great for the role.

How does this thread not have more posts? Chris Pratt was amazing as Star Lord, and THAT scene hit really hard... but can you blame him?
Pratt, Brolin and Saldana were the standouts in this movie.

Pratt acknowledged that fans “seem to be upset with Star-Lord,” but he did not care to share any bit of the blame game. As he leaned back in his chair—goaded on by Jurassic World costar Bryce Dallas Howard, who insisted “we all need an explanation”—Pratt defended Star-Lord’s actions and said they made sense for both the character’s journey and the film.

Look, the guy watched his mother die. He watched as his father figure died in his arms. He was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a [silently mouths something] thing.

Pure facts! People are quick to make of the one thing wrong in the light of a dozen things done right. Starlord saved and avenged countless lives before his emotion became too much too cope with by using simple humor. In the face of the man who murdered the last thing he truly loved, he snapped. How is it hard to understand?
