Endgame Lets Talk Avengers 4 and what we know #Spoilers?

Does it make sense to sacrifice the time stone and the protection of our reality, just to get half of the population back?

If you want future Marvel films… umm yea. LOL

Build up. Pure and simple. The battle at the end is like close to 40 minutes long all told. They maximize the impact of such an extended sequence like that by holding off in the rest. Also, they had a complex story to tell in regards to the characters, their dynamics and then add in time travel. There needs to be ample set up for that. Add in that this is juggling a bunch of threads from the previous films as well as IW, and yeah, I can see why this was different from IW which had a more traditional movement through drama/character to action set piece to drama to action etc. kind of pacing.

This will all flow better after a 5 hour + Avengers IW/EG marathon

I was actually wondering why there weren't more alien races out there trying to find out who did this or who may have already known of Thanos, that didn't attempt to find them on their own.

Me too!!!

We only get a blip about how other planets are experiencing what earth is due to the snap from Carol.

I'm not sure if this idea came from the fans or the thirst balls who make YouTube videos about this stuff but I was thinking there would be some sort of universal acknowledgement and consequences of the snap across the galaxies and would give us our intro to the greater cosmic worlds and beings.. but nope.

For the best. We already had 1 time jump in the movie and we didn't need to see Morgan grown up. Leaves room for them to do something else with her in the future.

It wouldn't have been a time jump. It'd be a fever dream powered by the soul stone like the one Thanos had with little Gamora after his snap (what did it cost? everything).

I don't know I feel Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Captain Marvel had memorable parts in the big battle.
For it to be memorable does not mean they had to fight Thanos. Black Panther taking the gauntlet and juking aliens was pretty cool. Spider-Man using instant kill and protecting the gauntlet was also cool. CM showing up fighting Thanos was memorable. Characters like War Machine, Bucky, Groot are side characters I don't need them to have shining moments. They get those in solo movies that they are a big part of not team ups for me.
I can understand Bucky or Groot but WM was in the entire film. He was a massive walking Arsenal. Seems suspect that he wasn't blowing away Thanos' army like in IW.

Ah ok, that makes sense. But I think it worked with Gamora because we already had seen her in flashback as a child. I can see how it would be confusing if you see grown-up Morgan for the first time in the end.

I liked Stark's last words were I am Iron Man, and he didn't get a full conversation with everyone else.

If they weren't going to give us a Soul World scene with Nat, I don't see how one with an older Morgan would make sense.

I’ve been thinking about creating a fan edit of Infinity War and Endgame, and including the post credits from Captain Marvel and Ant-Man and the Wasp, I’m curious how it would all flow as one big thing.

Not nit-picking... But I was actually wondering if all the Snapped had re-materialized at the same spot they ashed away at.

So this means that the Guardians and Spidey and Strange all returned to Titan? But then how did they get back to earth?
Strange made a portal. He can do it from quiet the distance and does not require the stone. He likely has other tricks too because he got in contact with Wong to get everyone. They made portals for people on other planets.

Random thing I noticed in my 3rd viewing. In Tony's goodbye remarks, he marvels at their newly expanded universe by saying "10 years ago, if you had told me were not alone..." 10 years ago for us, just after Iron Man, that line would make sense, but 10 years ago for them, would've been post-Avengers, alien invasion, Thor/Asgard, etc. so that line doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Am I missing something or did they just forget about the 5-year jump for a hot minute?

They probably just forgot about it as the line seems to be representative of Marvel Studios efforts in general.

So according to the Spider-Man trailer there is a multi verse now ?? Mysterio is not from our earth, but another earth ? Can’t lie, that has peeked my interest a little.

From the Wikipedia page concerning Mysterio in the Ultimate line:

The Ultimate Marvel version of Mysterio was introduced in Ultimate Spider-Man Annual #3. His appearance is drastically changed from his 616 counterpart. He wears all black with a green neck brace that produces blue smoke that envelopes his face. In his first appearance, he had a police technician to set up surveillance equipment to the police department. However, after NYPD's police captain Frank Quaid asked Spider-Man to aid them to find the crook who was somehow able to stay ahead of his unit. Mary Jane Watson, Spider-Man's love interest, figured out how the criminal does it after the hero informed her of the situation. After the police arrested his accomplice, the villain vowed to get even with Spider-Man and then escapes.[73]

Mysterio appears again in Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #1, blasting Kingpin out the window of a skyscraper.[74] He publicly confesses to Wilson Fisk's murder and threatens the city, stating that he is now in charge. He releases a fear hallucinogen across Manhattan in order to rob the Federal Bank. Spider-Man stops him and Mysterio's personal hatred for the web slinger increases.[75]

Creating an illusion of the Hulk to lure Spider-Man to him, Mysterio ambushes and severely wounds the hero. Before Mysterio can unmask and kill Spider-Man, a mysterious vigilanterescues him and together they defeat Mysterio, revealing his true face. Mysterio finds Spidey's blood on his broken armor and designs a Spider-Slayer that personally targets Peter. Spider-Man defeats it, and before Mysterio can do anything else, the police rush to his hideout, which they found by tracking a piece of Mysterio's tech. Mysterio curses and proceeds to blow up his hideout.[76]

It was revealed in Spider-Men that this reality's Mysterio is a simple android, remotely controlled in real time by an 'avatar' program that was created and sent forth by the Earth-616 Mysterio in order to conquer the Earth of the Ultimate Marvel universe.

That last bit is... I think it's intriguing to say the least. It's news to me since I never read the Ultimate Spidey book.

Honestly a simple montage showcasing how people across the globe/galaxy had reacted to the snap before the five year time jump would have been very effective in conveying that.

Thanos destroyed the stones from our reality. Are you talking strange handing it over?

Yes. I'm not sure that it makes sense that Doctor Strange would sacrifice a reality-safeguarding tool just to save a one-off finite number of people.

The scene with hulk and the ancient one she explains that removing the stones would make the new timeline vulnerable to extra dimensional threats and that it is her job to protect her reality. Hulk promises to return the stones to the moment they are taken to ensure the new realities are safe. Might also try and mitigate changes but that went out of the window.

It seems like the writers disagree with the directors on this point.

"We are not experts on time travel, but the Ancient One specifically states that when you take an Infinity Stone out of a timeline it creates a new timeline. So Steve going back and just being there would not create a new timeline. So I reject the ‘Steve is in an alternate reality’ theory. I do believe that there is simply a period in world history from about ’48 to now where there are two Steve Rogers. And anyway, for a large chunk of that one of them is frozen in ice. So it’s not like they’d be running into each other.”

I must say I prefer Markus & McFeely's take on this.

I actually think this would have been a great and impactful scene but also think maybe too impactful and tear inducing which by that point might have been grief overload.

They made the right call. I mean looking back the Gamora moment in IW is even more strange in light of AEG. What was that all about? Remember when it sparked the whole "Everyone is inside the Soul Stone" theories? Why would Tony see an older Morgan? And again, if he did because an older Morgan kind of gives him her blessing to sacrifice himself then it again begs what the scene with Thanos and little Gamora was all about?

Seeing as far from home is saying there is a multiverse then both directors and writers can be right to an extent.
In the multiverse concept there is an infinite number of worlds where anything that can happen did happen. So cap didn't create a new reality. He just travelled to a reality that already existed where he had joined in 1945.

Taking a stone from a reality doesn't really create a new one. Just makes it vulnerable to dark forces. So cap returned them to the moment they were taken to ensure their protection. Which in a way stops creating a dark reality.

Thanos has destroyed the ones from our reality leaving us vulnerable.
