The absurdly extravagant collector’s edition aside, $59.99 is a fair asking price for both games and every bit of content that’s been released. I don’t know that I’ve ever want to play four-player split screen, but for those that miss the days of crowding on a couch for FPS fun, this is great. I’m definitely interested to see how this looks on current-gen hardware.

Sunday PAX South panel promises "never-before-seen reveals."

Borderlands 3 might be announced this Sunday at PAX South in San Antonio.
During Gearbox’s “Question and Answer Time” panel yesterday, one fan asked, “When or if are we going to be getting Borderlands 3?”
Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford replied, “I’ll tell you what. We don’t know—that’s the honest answer—but if you come back to our main theater panel on Sunday, you might get a little more than that.”
On Sunday, Gearbox is hosting an “Inside Gearbox Software” panel in the main theater, and its description needs little help in backing Pitchford’s tease:

Gearbox Software recruiting for next Borderlands

"There is literally nothing to tell" right now, Gearbox says.


A new Borderlands game is not yet in development, Gearbox Software confirmed during its “Borderlands Behind-The-Scenes” panel at PAX South in Texas this evening. But it wants to get development started.
“We are recruiting for next Borderlands,” Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford said on Twitter. “This is the big one. Industry badass? E-mail me: [email protected].”
Pitchford adds that they’re looking for “great artists, designers, coders, producers and other developers.”
Gearbox’s current focus is Battleborn, which is due out later this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Studio closed "in order to better manage ongoing development costs."

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel developer 2K Australia is closing down, 2K Games has confirmed.
“We can confirm we have taken steps to begin the studio closure process for 2K Australia in order to better manage ongoing development costs while improving the working proximity of our creative teams,” 2K told Kotaku Australia in a statement. “We are very grateful for the team’s valuable contributions to numerous 2K projects, and are working with affected staff to explore reassignment opportunities where possible.”
Sources “close to the situation” reportedly told Kotaku that a move to Melbourne was being planned for the studio, which forced out many of its high level members, which may have resulted in 2K’s decision to close the studio.
