Green Lantern #22

The Sinestro war continues and it becomes obvious that unless you're reading Green Lantern Corps you're missing out since there are references to it in the opening pages. Something this big, the two titles can't act like they're in a void from each other, so kudos for that.

So what do we get this issue? Kyle beats up Hal for a little bit, the Lost Lanterns arrive and we get some kind of idea what Superboy Prime and Cyborg Superman are in this for. The former obviously has designs on Earth and the latter just wants to finally die. At the end the Lanterns divide up and it ends with Hal and co. running into the evil Sinestro librarian.

Maybe I shouldn't be reading this title after I read Nova, but I'm feeling a little underwhelmed by the Sinestro war so far. Its cool enough in its own right, don't get me wrong, but I feel as if the opening shots in the Sinestro special were a bit more dramatic than what we've seen so far.Still, the night is young and the story is I assume still in its early stages and seeing as how there's nothing really wrong with this issue as far as I can see, so I won't hold that against it.

Annihilation Conquest: Wraith #2

Hey, its the Super Skrull, and he's not in good shape. So we learn a bit more about what it is to become a select and the inner workings of the Phalanx which I personally found pretty helpful. We also get Wraith's origin which is largely what I expected it to be. Not crazy about the pain thing, especially with a character like Penance running around but whatever.

This issue felt like a step up from the previous one and I at least enjoyed it.

Army of Darkness: From Ashes #1

I primarily picked this up because I enjoyed the Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness crossover and decided to give the title a shot. I enjoyed the opening pages and the nice little nod to the original ending of AoD made me smile, but after that the comic sort of lost me. I couldn't place my finger on it, but it did.

I'll probably pick up the second issue and decide if I'll waste my time with it but for now 3/5 to the first issue.

That's it for me this week, I read Countdown but I've got nothing else to say about that book that hasn't been said, so I guess I'm done.

I would pick a more popular artist for that. I'm sorry I just don't like his art on the book. You go from Sook, to Calero, to Raimondi and then Pham, that's a huge step down. Roy Allan Martinez and Renato Arlem we're better than him too.
I never said he was a great artist. You seem to want to spew bile anytime he's mentioned, though. I think that's a bit much. He's competent and his art's not bad to look at, but he's certainly not up there with Raimondi and Arlem and Calero.

Cooler than Luke's at the moment. Cool enough to mold a bunch of villains and ne'er-do-wells into an admirable superhero team on the Thunderbolts. Cool enough to earn the respect of Captain America. :oldrazz:

Raimondi's doing pretty well. If he ever left, though, Gaydos would be great.

Daredevil #99
Exciting end to a good arc.

Batman #667
Intriguing. I like this plot even better than the "ghosts of Batman" stories in the past few issues. The art is not Kubert-caliber, but it's good. And on time.

Hulk #109 - Hulk is pissed and losing it,and i like it.

Green Lantern #22 - Reis was made for widescreen cosmic action.

DD #99 - Going to get hate for this, but this arc has felt pretty phoned in.The cliffhangers have been pretty weak and the story seems more straight forward and less layered than the previous arcs.

PWJ #10 - Good final act.Frank gets some bullets and punches in,Bridge shows people who's boss, and the Frank/Stuart rel'p gets complicated.
