Annihilation #6

The issue picks up with Galactus and Silver Surfer both free. The devourer and his herald with help from Kree subsequently destroy Annihilus’s armarda but not before Galactus remains true to his word and saves both Drax and Moondragon, by transporting them to another world far from the battle. Meanwhile Nova and Captain Marvel ready themselves for their attack on Annihilus.

Having successfully destroyed Annihilus’s army, Galactus and Silver Surfer flee. Leaving Annihilus to swear revenge in a very old school villiany way. But before he can spew out too many lines, Nova appears. The two of them then duke it out for the next 7 pages with Annihilus having the upperhand thanks to Quasar’s quantum bands. Captain Marvel and Peter try to help Nova out but they are trapped inside a energy field that Nova created around them so he can take on Annihilus alone. Desperate to help her friend Marvel breaks out of the energy field and takes the bands form Annihilus. Using the bands Marvel is able to blast Annihilus from Nova, who at this point has had the crap beaten out of him. With Annihilus weakened Nova lays the smack down and rips out what appears to be Annihilus brain.

The last few pages rap up the sub-plots that the series has covered: The united front and the rements of Annihilus army come to some kind of truce, Silver Surfer remains with Galactus, the heralds go there separate ways, Captain Marvel considers becoming the new Quasar (hence the upcoming mini), Super Skrull and Praxagora have fallen off the grid, Drax and Moondragon are unacounted for and Nova isn’t sure what he’s going to do (See Nova #1 synopsis).

The final pages reveal that Ravenous retrieved Annihilus’s body and that Annihilus has given birth to himself as a child.

Overall very enjoyable and a fitting end to the mini series.

Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters #7-Can't complain,this mini has been something special.Love all the far out concepts,especially the moon part,as well as Stan getting his ass kicked and Human Bomb going "nuclear".Acuna is top notch,it's going to be interesting seeing him tackle GL.

Teen Titans #43-Johns gets things going real fast,and I like it.With a little help from Wikipedia,I figured out who all the "bad" titans were.It's too bad that he and Daniel are leaving the book,I've been enjoying this title since the OYL launch.Not sure if I'm going to follow it,but now I'm thinking of picking up Johns' first 2 trades.

Daredevil #93-Haven't read through it yet,but it looks like Matt and Foggy reunite and we get a shocking reveal about Milla at the end.Hopefully we get a reaction out of Matt concerning the CW and some interaction with Danny in the next issue or arc.Lark continues to impress.

So I bought three comics I can't read, I missed a couple issues of 52 and have yet to track them down, I haven't read any of the God War arc since #2 and I am not Reading X-men until Bachalo is off the book.....I know Humberto Ramos is drawing this one.....I need to go back and re read it all I guess....it's supposedly pretty good.


And I got the Invincible TPBs 2-5

Ms. Marvel One-Shot - Starts off with 2 teenagers in a library, Gavin and Rich. Rich picks out "Binary" a novel by Carol Danvers, based on her adventures as Binary. Rich sits down and Gavin starts reading the book to him, Rich becomes entranced as Gavin reads the book, slowly more and more people become entranced by the story. Meanwhile Carol and Simon are out to lunch, it seems as if Simon is about to ask Carol something important, just then a gigantic creature appears called a Keeper, she figures out that the Keeper is from one of the books she wrote. Simon suddenly passes out, Carol saves him, then she heads for the library. As she steps through the library door, there is a flash of white, and she is suddenly in outer space. She hears Gavin's voice, Gavin doesn't know where he is, or what happened to the book or Rich. Marvel heads for the planet, as she approaches she see the planet is covered by the "Swarm", also from her book. The Keepers existed to contain the Swarm, eventually there were not enough Keepers left to hold back the Swarm, the Swarm was the Anti-Creation. Anyway Marvel runs from the Swarm, they eventually start to overtake her. Gavin lets her know about his ability basically broadcast anything that he reads onto the minds of others. She basically realizes that he doesn't need to read anything he can just think it and it will basically becom reality, she tells him to imagine her as Binary. All goes dark, when Marvel comes to she is in her Binary form. She starts to power-up to burn out the Swarm, as she kept powering up eventually everything turned to white. She, Gavin, Rich, and the book where now back in the library, Marvel was no longer Binary. As they leave the library, A.I.M. scientists show up to take Gavin into custody, and use lethal force if needed. Gavin decides this is a bad ending, and it's not how he wants the story to end, besides these guys experimented on him for a month. So he imagines that the terrorists were rounded up and taken to jail, they dematerialize. Marvel asks what he doing, Gavon says he's rewriting the story. Gavin lets her know that he lost control today, but that she helped him get a whole lot stronger. Marvel tells him that she knew somebody like him who lost control, Gavin tells her that A.I.M. was experimenting on him and others trying to make more of "her". Gavin says he owes Marvel, suddenly, she dematerializes and ends up at lunch with Simon.

Basically, he is like Scarlet Witch, and Ms. Marvel helped him get to that next level, which is a very dangerous thing.

So far the only one I've gotten for this week is Daredevil #93, and I thought it was a great conclusion. It resolved everything in this arc, and had some great little moments in it. Lark continues to draw amazing art, and Brubaker continues to write great stories. I can't wait to see what they've got coming next.

What Captain Marvel is that in Annihilation?

She is Phyla-Vell daughter of Mar-Vell, younger sister to Genis-Vell. She will most likely be the next Quasar, she has the Quantam Bands, dont know if she'll call herself Quasar I hope so, plus her dad is alive and he is the Captain Marvel.
