BOUGHT/THOUGHT June 6, 2007

....I hate to be the one to tell you this but....no. You're not. As a matter of fact there Judy, you're pretty much the exact opposite of awesomeness. You're well, Meg Griffin.

That's not what your mom told me last night! LOL!!!111!11!!!!!!1!!!

It'll be okay man. The first step, is to admit you have a problem.

My only problem is that I'm too sexy. Don't even act like you haven't been eyeing me.

I'm tired, and I gotta finish this bottle of Petrone.

That's exactly what I liked about Ocean's 11. Every member of the cast seemed really invigorated, like they were having a blast just being there and making the movie. The cast itself is pretty amazing, too. I enjoy seeing Don Cheadle and George Clooney in just about any role, to be honest.

If Ocean's 12 is even better than 11, I'm looking forward to it.

You will either hate or love Ocean's 12. I bat for the team that loved it. It was fun and didn't take itself seriously, and every character shined through.

Just got back from seeing Ocean's 13, and it was on par with 11. The main complaint I see in all the reviews online say that its the same thing all over again. Well that may be true, but "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and all that jazz. It's a fun movie.

Casey Affleck and Don Cheadle have some of the best parts. And the ending was perfect for the film. No complaint from me.

Are Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta-Jones in the movie?

Love the show, but that season Finale was pretty anti-climactic. Where was the huge battle? Where was fire versus ice? Where was Stripper Hulk going Smash? Just, that last fifteen minutes of that show was a f**king waste. But overall it was f**king awesome.

I enjoyed it. They don't have the budget for a big finale like that. You expect a TV show to have 20 million for an episode? Yeah, it could have been bigger but in no means was it Bendis anti-climatic. It didn't have a random omnipotent character (who wasn't part of the main cast) beat Sylar out of nowhere and then spend 34 minutes talking down to the heroes to explain how. :whatever:

I would agree with you about them not having 20 million for an episode, but just watching a few shows on the Sci Fi channel like Battlestar Galactica, or any random ep of Farscape, and you get more special effects than they used in that final episode of the season, throughout the whole episode. And theres no way they had that much of a budget considering they were just cable shows. I mean, I wasn't looking for Spidey/Gobby JR versus Sandman/Venom here. But come on.

Word yo. I mean, just look at this past season of BSG when they rescue all the folks from New Caprica and when the Pegasus shows up and just ****ing owns. Amazing.

Sci-Fi channel shows, while not my cup of tea most of the time, have always seemed to have better effects. And you know their budgets are smaller, too. Just look at Smallville. I don't there's ever been a special effect in that show that impressed me, and that generates far more money than BSG or Farscape.

Now, I'm not gonna say Heroes had crappy effects. It just seems like they totally ran out of cash for the last episode or something. You look at episodes like 5 years gone, or the Company Man, and you get some seriously good s**t. Especially Company Man, it was like the end of X-3 only, you know, cool.

I just feel they didn't deliver on that last battle. But the actual episode was still very good.

Well, it's been a huge hit for NBC, so advertising dollars for the next season are going to increase considerably. I'd say they'll have a lot more elbow room for some expensive episodes next season.

Or they could just outsource their stuff to the folks over at the Sci Fi Channel. :o You know, before the Stars start demaning more money now that it's a hit.

I suppose that's a possibilty.

Those kids on the show aren't really in the right position right now to start demanding higher pay. I'm sure NBC'll sign them to new contracts with higher pay, but I can't see a Friends scenario this early.

Oh yeah, we're talking at least by season three before somebody starts in on the I want more cash routine. But they've said some of the people wont be coming back next season. They're just gonna add few new characters. Only ones we know for sure that is coming back Peter and Hiro.

And I believe it is possible to outsource the work. I thought I heard that most of the shows on Sci FI have a specific studio that works on their effects. Like Jim Henson Studios I think. I could be wrong.

Jim Henson Studios is the ****.

I'd love to have a tour of that place.

Jim Henson Studios worked on Farscape. In fact, I think part of the reason the show was made in the first place was to show off Jim Henson Studios' special effects and puppetry. That's why Farscape is one of the very few sci fi shows made after 1985 to use puppets extensively. And, might I add, to badass effect. (Farscape's my favorite sci fi show of all time.)

I was also kind of disappointed in the final battle of Heroes. It wasn't terrible, and I did actually like seeing Jessica beat the **** out of Sylar with a parking meter, but it was just over so quickly. They didn't even need really impressive special effects; just a minute or two more fight choreography, with maybe a fire blast or invisible punch thrown in, and I would've been happy. It seems like BSG is the only sci fi show around right now that can do awesome action and awesome character development.

Zoic does most of the effects for BSG.
