Bought/Thought May 26th, 2010 *Spoilers*

I became a Captain Britain fan due to Alan Moore's series with the Fury and all that. I mean, Alan Moore's not really my style of writing, but that series was phenominal. I read some of the Alan Davis stuff right after that and it was good, but I never finished it so I don't know how it was in full. I read those sometime around the late 90's early 2000's I think and I was so sad because the Cap Britain in the Excalibur/X-Men comics of that time was nothing like the Captain Britain from Moore's run. In fact, other than a few stories here and there, it wasn't unil MI:13 that I started to get that feeling again.

It was 15 and an annual, if I recall correctly. Also, book 1 has a backup of an old Captain Britain with Spider-Man story. I just ordered volume 2 finally, and would have had volume 3 had Amazon not been out of stock.

The series was surprisingly good. I was never a big fan of Captain Britain before this series, but there was just such good, consistent writing with some nice cameos towards the end (I mean, Death's Head II for ****'s sake). It was sad seeing it end, but it ended very well.

Right, 15 issues and an annual, for 16 issues worth of material. Not too bad by today's standards.

I finally read JLI: Generation Lost's first two issues. They were pretty awesome. I love most of the JLI characters, so it's great to see them forced back together ("forced" being the key word--this is not a particularly happy reunion, nor should it be). The idea that Max Lord wipes all trace of himself from the entire world except for Captain Atom, Booster Gold, Fire, and Ice, who just happened to be in the right place at the right time to avoid it, works well. The idea of discrediting the JLI is even better, since they were always something of the joke League (aside from the Detroit League, anyway). I'm hoping the cast grows to include other familiar favorites. We know Guy is out because Ice confronted him and he freaked out. Jaime turns up at the end of the second issue and looks to be joining the team, since there was a pointed note that he's not answering the Titans' messages in Teen Titans. I really, really hope the Martian Manhunter can join up with the team. It'd be easy to do--his telepathy could've protected him from Max's and he's easy to discredit because he just came back from the dead and is suddenly hanging out on Mars like a crazy hermit. Can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

I know, telepaths can affect each other. I just want J'onn to be part of the series because he was a big part of the JLI too. Having his telepathy weaken Max's enough that he could be convinced Max is a threat would be one way to do it. Plus, if he happened to be on Mars, it's possible Max's telepathic wave thingamajig didn't even reach him. Clearly, Jaime's got some kind of loophole going for him, so why couldn't J'onn have one as well?
