Once Pirates comes out it'll take a hit but by then it'll be over 300 million. Spidey 3 could see a massive opening Friday of around 70 million. Could hit 160-170 million in 3 days. No joke.

Just so you know guys the "who wins" in the title wasn't a question I'm directing at the board here. It's the title to the article. I think Spidey will hit 420-430 million. Pirates 400-410 million. Shrek 3 370 million.

While I may enjoy Spider-Man 3 more aswell as many people here, I think Disney and the POTC crew have them all right where they want them now. Considering even while I've been unimpressed with most of the pirates series, the last trailer has impressed me so much more than the last SM3 trailer that I want to go see it. The first POTC movie I'll ever actually go to the cinema to see too, rather than DVD release watch like the two last.

nah I disagree Inifini, I like the Pirates films alot, but the third one, idk...I think Spidey may whoop Pirates this time around. One can only hope lol.

Pirates and Shrek 3 are really going toe-to-toe, with just a week apart. They may make more than Spidey still, who knows, but at least SM3 will have 2 weeks to itself. We'll know when we see the opening weekend of SM3, that'll help tell the story.

^ I'm sure they are which is why I didn't put a poll too. Also read my last post "I" wasn't asking who wins. I was just posting the article. That's the name of it. LOL Also give some guys credit though. Don't think just because they're Spidey fans that's why they're voting for Spidey. I think it has more to do with Venom and how bad ass the trailers are. This is huge.

Well Pirates 3 and Spidey 3 are 3 weeks away from each other so it could bethat after 3 weeks Spidey 3 cools down and Pirates takes over the box office.

While I feel Shrek and POTC will do well, there is a buzz for Spidey 3 that I haven't felt before. This includes the first movie, which was amazingly buzzworthy and theaters were packed to the gills for that one. The second movie didn't have the same buzz that I'm feeling for 3. There's just something about this movie that's reeking of a $150 mil opening weekend.

Shrek will get a large turnout, but it'll be nowhere near SM3 because SM3 appeals to a large range of audiences.

And PotC hasn't been hyping up as much as SM3. Don't they only have 1 trailer? How can you expect people to see your movie if you don't let them know it's coming? I didn't even know when PotC was coming out until after the trailer. Poor advertising will sink that ship...pun WAY intended.
