Comics Brace Thyselves.

This is just a personal opinion, but how exactly would you guys like the character of peter/spiderman to grow, and develope if his life always stays the same.
The problem is he's not growing and developing. Between killing off baby may, so Peter doesn't seem like he's old, trying to kill off MJ so it seems like he's young, making him a school teacher so he can relive his silveraged storylines and other things, Joe Q proves he wants the complete opposite. Joe Q said as much. He said he especially doesn't like the MJ marrige because it makes him seem old. He didn't want him having a child because that would make him seem old. And he wants to make Spiderman seem like the youthful bachelor and make him like he was in his silverage days.

I relize it's a comic you guys are used to, but like in real life sometimes people die,
Already happened over a million times in Peters life and everyone was a close loved one: UncleBen, Gwen Stacy, AuntMay(was retconned), Harry Osborn, Ben Reilly, Baby May, ect. I would be very happy if atleast one person Peter gets close to DOESN'T die. Or atleast not MJ.

or split up
Between Felicia Hardy, Gwen Stacy, Betty, and the thousands of times he broke up with MJ, I think that plot has been overdone.

or whatever, and now we get to see how a character like spiderman will deal with these events, and how it will effects how he acts as a hero.
Its happened too many times already. Its starting to get old. Realisticly, Peter Parker should have had a mental breakdown with all the loved ones he's seen die up close and personally.
Plus if it really doesn't work they will find a way to bring the chacter they choose to kill back to life(it might be stupid, but we'll get over it like the clone saga). Any way i guess i'm let's see how it turns out.
They "killed" off MJ before and Spiderman comic sales couldn't have gotten any lower. When it didn't work, they retconned it so that she was kidnapped before getting on the plane that she alledgedly died on.

Cover for One More Day...if only it were JMS in those sights.

Thats not the Cover to One More Day. Thats the Last Page of the Latest ASM.

Well, I'd say "If they kill MJ, I'll stop buying 616 Spidey", but I only buy Sensational now, so it would only be a three dollar threat.

They've "killed" both of those charcters off before (May thrice) and it would only seem redundant to do it again. Fans will complain so they'll just have to bring them back to life again. Pete and MJ went their separate ways, but fans wanted them back together, so they fixed it. If they separate again, fan outcry will demand that they be brought back together. So, really, I don't see ANY point in either killing off May or MJ, cause its been done and retconned or separating MJ and Pete cause again it's been done and repaired.

I'm sorry, were you applying logic to fat ass' mind, or the fact that he gives a crap about what his readers want?

Oh...but he DOES give a crap, that is why he is "finally going to resolve the marriage controversy once and for all."

He is bold and brave.

We need to start giving him more credit here.

Maybe DC will hire him next.

He can then fix the batman controversy.

slightly OT, but I would like to petition the next EIC of Marvel to demand as his first act as the new boss that [whoever is writing the spidey titles at the time] create a new arch enemy for Spider-Man, with the moniker "Q"

Q will always be out the shake spidey's world to the core and be ceaselessly determined to kill MJ (or at least get her to divorce Pete).

Every time Q makes an appearance, he will declare "This time is going to change EVERYTHING" and will stop at nothing to ruin the reputation of some high profile project he works on in real life (reasons why never to be determined; naturally).

Love this idea!

I love the "Q" idea!

He could fly around on a hovering pizza box (this would settle the Joe Q "Pizza controversy"), and he could use continuity bombs! THey are a slight variation on the "Retcon bombs" used by the Hobgoblin from the future, except these insert false history into Spider-Man's life and causes everyone to behave out of character! Spider-Man himself could become weak-minded and indecisive when around the "Q", so he calls in help from Reed Richards, who is acting out of character himself, and, together they banish him to a parallel dimension which has sprung up due to all his tampering with time. Here....all his creations from the wreckless use of his "Continuity Bombs" haunt him and torment him for all eternity....and among the torment, he meets another who will eventually aide him in his escape from the horrible realm...
JoMuS....the Time-Unraveller!!!

To be continued!!:wow:

Just like when Byrne/Mackie/Harris/Macchio (or whoever's bright idea it was) decided to "kill off" MJ to make Peter hip and YOUNG YOUNG YOUNG!!! and "resolve" everything that was "wrong" with Spider-man. Yeah, we all know how well THAT worked.
Its a shame if it goes through, because I am REALLY enjoying SPider-Man comics these days.

Yes but what's not redudant is if Peter is actually the one doing the killing! That issue will sell like hotcakes.

We love redundancy!!

Kill MJ off again...will sell like hotcakes again!

Bring her back and have them date again...will sell like hotcakes again!

Another wedding issue of MJ and Pete...again, it will sell like hotcakes!

This is fun stuff guys!! Stop complaining! :cwink:

Recycling keeps the environment happy and it should keep us happy too.

I have been waiting for someone to say this for quite a while.

Not that Pete would harm his very own.

But to think that he would be pushed over the edge to murder someone who hurt either one of his most precious?

That would be HUGE. A one time deal , I would pray.

None-the-less. Peter taking a life in blind reaction to a huge loss? THAT would make for one hell of an issue with the proper pencils behind it.

Peter would finally "man-up" like so many of my friends tell me he should be doing, and go the Logan route. Once...and Only Once. Never again.

But thats my distant dream of a real interpersonal issue.

Civil War kinda ruins the outlook on that idea anyway.

No no. I meant Peter is the one who murders one his love ones not someone else. If Quesada can somehow work this into some storyline you know ppl will buy that issue.

like i said. I Knew what you meant.

But I still meant what I typed.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Woke up at Marvel, ‘round the end of September
I’m a mad edit bomb. Blow up the drawing and WRITIN'.
Then I chew up Thunder and I spit out THOR’S LIGHTININ!
I’m the new Spidey-Man… so if you liked it BACK THEN.
In month number one: GOODBYE M.J AND HELLO MEN!

Wha....?
Is Joey going to have Pete come out of the closet?
If they're looking to top the past few years of stupidity... that's one way to do it.

huh???

Is that a joke!?????

If they go THAT route........that's just not funny.
