A new thread for those, like myself, who are looking forward to this new era in the ongoing history of The Amazing Spider-Man!

What are your hopes for BND? Any particular creative team you can't wait for? Discuss!

Because friends, the future's just around the corner. :)

Even though OMD was very dissapointing is made me angry, I'm still excited about BND! I mean, sure, there are some dissapointing things that are going to be in it, but I'm preety sure it's going to be fun. Soap Opera type stories are great, so that's one of the things I'm excited about. I'm loving Steve Mcniven's artwork, it's pure beauty. I also can't wait for Dan Slott to get on the the book. He's such a great writer, IMO. I'm also looking foward to alot of other things about it.

I'm ready to start reading Spidey, and 9 bucks a month (the cost of the issues) is so much easier to me than a trade at one time, so I'm ready for this!

Hey, the 4 of you can have fun...

It must be nice to be unsullied by all those pesky years of continuity that just got flushed. I guess ignorance IS bliss.

Here. You all can read all the spin and propaganda that the devil himself is spewing out about this...

I don't want alot from BND...I just want it to undo the past 5 years of Spidey without undoing the marriage, bringing people back from the dead....etc.

Wow, JQ acting like it's good for the characters not to age. :whatever:

He really doesn't think logically. He also doesn't realize that he is adding bad things and stories to the current Spidey comics.

I will probably get the first 9 issues since I like the teams on them, but after that, I don't know....

I don't even know what to think now :csad:

All I can say is, vote with your wallets. If you don't enjoy the title anymore, don't buy it, that'll send the message you want. There are too many good comics out there to waste money on this (if you're sick of the crap going on lately).

I despised OMD, so even though Slott is finally writing a Spidey title...I'll give it a miss, I think.

What makes all of this even more brainless is that the other changes were a "fresh new direction taking Peter's life into new arenas."

Well apparently "fresh" dosen't last too long...every few months there's a total reset. Either there's a lot of editorial disagreement over what to do, or nobody has enough control to settle all this crap down.

So the Back in black was pointless
the Initiative with the Scarlet Spiders is pointless
Peter's relationship with Tony Stark is pointless
Civil War was pointless with Peter as a main character
The Spider God sitting back and letting all this happen is pointless
    May getting shot was pointless
    The unmasking was pointless

The new changes under JMS (who is now in disagreement with Evil Incarnate) are now pointless, too.

And Joey cackles on behind an oak paneled desk...scotch in one hand, cuban cigar in the other... [IMG]

BND is the same spoiled carton of milk as OMD, except they will have someone else pour it for you.

I'm not that dumb to fall for that trick.

I want the real spidey back, not some alternate reality, devil dealing one.

Brand New Day actually looks really good. The stories look like the stories everyone has been clamoring for since 2004, and the idea of Slott and McNiven working on Spidey is a godsend.

It's just a shame that it all had to happen under these conditions, and it's exactly why I won't be buying BND.

Agreed, I ahve high hopes for it and I feel it's going ot bring back some of those cool elemnts from the old Spidey comics, which is what I and I'm sure many people have been craving for a while. Am I 100% sure it's going to be fantastic? No, but am I confident? yes I am.

    Wait a second.

I haven't read this Joey Q interview yet or anything...

One question...Is Brand New Day pretty much just going to be Spider-man 10 years or whatever in the past retold again? Cause seems like Harry will be in the book. Heh damn Marvel not only screwed up so many things involving Peter and MJ....they also screwed up Harry's death.

And why can't some people around here accept that there are some people that can get over a bad storyline, despite it's horrid ramifications. It must be nice to run around threads pointing at people and making them feel like less of a fan because they are looking forward to something that you're not. SHEESH! :whatever:

And even though the last part of One More Day gave me a migraine headache trying to decipher how Marvel's entire continuity has changed now...I'm still looking forward to Brand New Day.

Why? Because I'm a sheep? Because I suck Joe Quesada's penis? Because I'm not a "REAL" Spider-Man fan? Or any of the usual junk that the haters here spew?

The reason is simple. I've been on these boards for years lobbying for Dan Slott to be put on Amazing Spider-Man. Ever since the end of Spider-Man/Human Torch I've been waiting for this moment. And that's been about 3 to 4 years of waiting. I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to watch Marvel's best writer take over their core title and their top tier character. No way in hell.

Dan Slott and Steve McNiven are not going to pay the price for Joe Quesada and the editorial department's sins. Maybe others can project that on those creators because their angry. While I may be angry...it gets nullified by Dan F'n Slott. Period.

Dan Slott is Marvel's BEST WRITER right now. He's currently writing the best Marvel book, Avengers The Intiative, and if any of you think Brand New Day is going to "suck" are just too angry over One More Day. Because Slott has one of the best grasps on Marvel continuity. He's proven it over and over again on Spidey/Human Torch, She-Hulk, Great Lakes Avengers, and so on and so on.

I'm pumped for the new era of Spider-Man. No, not because Peter is single and Harry Osborn is back and everything that has happened in the past two decades means nothing. I'm pumped because I've finally gotten something I want and I'm not going to pass it up because some guy thinks he can do whatever he feels.

Hmn...well, i was pumped at one point to see Slott on Spidey too.....but not on a pointless Spidey that is out of continuity, which is what this will be.

This will be Spidey with HArry back and reality altered and spidey being a devil dealing loser...and MJ a crimefighter.

This is NOT the spidey i've read and supported since the beginning...at all!

This will be a continuation of the same OMD trash they just established but written and drawn by various "popular teams" to try to keep some fans coming to buy.

Not to be mean, but i hope the sales figures are pitifully LOW....so we can move FORWARD with REAL SPIDER-MAN sooner than later...and not this time altered experiement where JQ picks and chooses what is altered by a deal with the devil.

JQ basically went the lame-est route possible to bring about his agenda, and I am unclear how people can be unhappy with it, yet be excited because slott, or whomever will write or draw some MORE of "IT".
