As three of you already know, the managers confrence for gamestop is going on right now in las vegas. At the capcom press confrence the speaker let a little tid bit slip that we don't think she ment to say. She was raddiling off a list of games "I don't have any information about a sequel to dead rising, lost planet....etc" but then she specifically said

"The new marvel vs capcom game, uh uh, forget what i just said"

So let this little slip of the tounge be a glimmer of hope for mvc fans everywhere.

Then I found this: http://kotaku.com/gaming/make-it-so/marvel-vp-would-love-to-see-marvel-v-capcom-live-on-295969.php

Wait, I thought EA owned the rights to publish Marvel games...so a game like this with Capcom would be impossible? Cause I thought the only other Marvel games that can be made outside of EA are movie tie-ins.

I mean, I'm all for this and everything, but I just thought it could never happen.

EDIT: Also is the source just some random guy posting on a forum? Cause that's all I see in that link. And the Kotaku link only refers to the possibility of putting MVC2 on XBLA, which doesn't necessarily mean it's possible for a MVC3 to be in the works.

Marvel's contracts are very very very specific for using Marvel characters in games. EA has a contract for a specific type of fighting game, Capcom has another one, Konami has Marvel rights for the card based games, Activison and Sega also have agreements with Marvel. :) As does Cryptic. They can all use the same characters in "some cases" but they can't use the same characters the same way. RPG's, action, fighting, etc...They're all different.

Pfft...I'll be interested when I SEE it.

Sounds good, the other MVC game's were great, so i'm looking forward to this.

Hell, ill take that and be content.

Same here, especially if it had online capabilities, I think it'd replace Halo as my favorite online fun.

Ah I see, still, I think I'm gonna remain skeptical, I don't want to get my hopes up for nothing. :(

if this were to be a reality, you guys think it would be a retail game or a downloadable one?

I'll wait for the EA Marvel fighting game.

I still haven't played Ultimate Alliance. LOL A bit off topic but it's been on my shelf for 6 mos.

I have it for the PS2 and loved it. Bought it for my 360 and I've hardly played it at all.

Great news! I'm sure tihs game would be great, because all the other MVC games were fantasic. And this time, it would be even better graphics, becuase of the new consoles. :wow::up:

Yeah, and Shenmue III has a release date,...

PFFT!

this ***** WILL be fired, or it was intentional.

either way, im Meh on it. MvC2 was such a perfect game, I can't to see them **** this one up.

I'm still not buying in to it :o , but I did see this today:

http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/09/14/capcom-has-some-huge-announcements-for-tgs/

Australian gaming website gameplayer is reporting that Capcom will be making three "huge announcements" next Wednesday as part of their Tokyo Game Show press conference. Gameplayer received such news from attending the Activate Asia 2007 where they learned about the three Capcom announcements, but refuse to share the juicy details. So, Capcom could announce new sequels, new games, new exclusivity or the adjective "huge" could mean something more along the lines of new outfits being released to the XBLM for Dead Rising. Not saying that that would be a bad thing, just very none "huge". Next Wednesday ... TGS ... Capcom ... big announcments ... stay tuned.

I'd want me some more Marvel Vs Capcom.
Just imagine, Leon Kennedy going up against some obscure Marvel character.
