Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

Besides, Adam Driver is The Shadow. :o

The whole point of this thread is to speculate and have fun. We don't know what direction Gunn will go in for Batman. Maybe it'll be an A-lister. Maybe not. Almost nobody took the idea of Pattinson seriously because we all thought he'd never want to do it. Sometimes you'd be surprised.
Eh, I'd say most people regarded him as a serious candidate. Once the rumor started going around I do remember part of why he got mentioned a lot on the boards is because everyone thought he made perfect sense both from the standpoint of his career and what Matt Reeves could want.

I'll be honest & this might be a first in a fan casting thread in all the years I've visited these forums, I don't think I really like any fan suggestions that I've seen so far, nobody is really standing out from the pack.

It's still crazy that he's gonna be the definitive Batman for like a decade, hopefully.

I’m sure he’s been brought up, but what about Tom Brittney? If the reports were true, he was a finalist for Superman. He’s 32 and 6’2:

Would people be more excited for Pace or Pattinson if those were two different options presented in 2019

I love Pace but between the two Pattinson is obviously the more exciting one; though one of the reasons I like Pace for this is precisely because he'd have been extremely miscast as the version of Batman that Pattinson played. And likewise whatever version of Batman that Pace would be the best at playing would be one that wouldn't fit Robert at all.

His face bothers me. It looks so close to someone else but I can’t place it.

I'm thinking that they're going to aim for an A-lister after casting a relative unknown as Superman. And the A-lister I'm thinking they might ask is one who was just in a billion dollar hit for WB:

Gosling is young enough to not be an "over the hill" Batman yet but old enough to believably be the father of a teenage Damian Wayne.

Gosling isn’t going to sign the kind of contract the dude playing Batman in an ultra ambitious ten year plan for a shared universe has to sign. This model of franchise building fundamentally reduces your chances of landing an actor like Gosling and that’s a big part of why I don’t think it’s a good idea to begin with.

Garrett Hedlund is another good actor that’s consistently working in TV and film. At 38 & 6’3, I could see him turning in a good performance as Bruce Wayne.

He’s not a major A-list star or box office draw, but I’d say he’s recognizable nonetheless. I typically like his work.

From the moment I first saw him in Troy, I just have never, ever liked him. Hard to explain, but he’s played a fairly wide range of characters, and I swear each one has just felt like a more generic, less charismatic version of someone else.

I think Troy might have been his literal first role, which he was (IMO) totally fine in, but I liked him in Four Brothers and a bunch that he’s been in since then.
