Yes, I know he’s Tom Hardy’s clone, and no, I don’t care. :o

I've been on the Gyllenhaal camp, but Lee Pace is a really good choice as well. Several good suggestions in this thread.

In case anyone's curious, here's how a Lee Pace Bruce Wayne would look next to a David Corenswet Clark Kent.

Richard Madden (5'10" / 36 years old)
Ben Aldridge (6’1” / 37 years old)
Jake Lacy (5'10" /37 years old)
Jonathan Groff (5’11” / 37 years old)
Tom Cullen (6'1" / 37 years old)
Theo James (6’0” / 38 years old)
Aidan Turner (6'0" / 39 years old)

Early-mid forties
Benjamin Walker
(6'2" / 40 years old)
Jack Huston (6'1" / 40 years old)
Jamie Dornan (5’11” / 40 years old)
Tom Pelphrey (6'2" / 40 years old)
Ben Barnes (6’1” / 41 years old)

Lee Pace (6’5” / 43 years old)
Luke Evans (6'0" / 43 years old)

Someone really suggested Jake Lacy…?

Gunn on the age difference between Bats and Supes:
"So, does that mean Batman might be a couple years older than Superman? Yes, it could be."

Realistically, "a couple years" is too young for a Batman with two or three Robins; but the language used here is still noteworthy in that it suggests Gunn is looking for a Batman only moderately older than our new Superman.

What's more, with Reeves' Batman sequel slated for October 2025, it's anyone's guess when Brave could start production. Although Gunn did say the films won't be released within the same six month period, hence Jan 2026 being the earliest potential release date, nothing has been confirmed thus far. Point being, some of these mid forty-something actors could be pushing 50 by the time cameras still rolling.

I wouldn't put too much stock on what he means by "a couple" seeing how he said he'd only reveal "a few projects" for the DCU slate and ended up revealing 10. He may just be understating the age gap. It could mean anything.

So don't.

Would add Dan Stevens and Michele Huisman to the list.

Not sure how I feel about Sam Claflin in the role, but I suppose he's deserving of a shot as well.

Ben Aldridge would be the first actor to play both Thomas and Bruce Wayne.

Dan Stevens should only ever be Constantine.

If Gunn wants Batman to be around the same age range as a mid 20s or early 30s Superman (only a couple of years older) that would mean that Damian Wayne would likely be the first Robin in this universe. Can't see a Nightwing or a Jason Todd or Tim Drake being around, unless Batman recruited them all when he was a child.

Honestly, I think we should probably just put a pin in any deep thinking about age correlation, etc. until we’ve actually got some actors in front of us.

We’re tying our brains into knots over very little info and a lot of hypotheticals.

But I will say, Nightwing’s gotta be in the mix. I’ll be willing to accept Jason Todd and Tim Drake being reconfigured, but Dick’s gotta be the first Robin.

Gunn already teased Nightwing so I think he's pretty much a given to be in this film.

My top 4 actors for Batman, age not withstanding:
1. Lee Pace. (By a wide margin)
2. Jonathan Groff.
3. Tom Pelphrey
4. Dan Stevens

Everyone else I haven't seen in anything. I like Tom Cullen's look, but that's about it.

Yeah, in saying that, I think he's merely suggesting that Bats might be several years older (my guess is anywhere from mid-thirties to very early-forties) — but not so old that he's approaching 50 to unknown Superman actor's 25.

Lee Pace is not a bad choice.

How about that Bridgerton dude? Regé-Jean Page? A bit young maybe?

Really don't see the order of Robins changing. They're just starting the story later. Nightwing should already exist in the world. Red Hood too.
