Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

Maybe he and Gunn can bury the hatchet?

Pelphrey was the only good part of the 7.5 episodes I was able to withstand of Iron Fist. If Gunn wants someone a bit more under the radar, I'd say he's a great option as well.

I had to google the whole thing because I forgot most of the details of Mount's beef with Gunn and wow... he really went off all because Gunn talked about actors who lie about their height. What an overreaction.

Is this a safe space yet, or should I expect a fifteen-paragraph explanation as to why he's too short for the role - complete with comic panels and quotes from James Gunn from 1996?

Pls show some respect. That’s John Constantine.

Doesn't filming start soon? I figured Bruce would've been casted by now and announced.

I adore him!

I haven't given too much thought to this casting. But as I've always liked the idea of Alfred as secretly Thomas Wayne's head of security/Butler my choice for Alfred is Colin Firth.

Hartnett is a decent choice for Bruce, and someone I expect to be rumored as casting gets closer.

Tom hardy or Jensen Ackles.

WB seems to hire actors they are familiar with for their movies. Alcock (House of the Dragon) and Pierre (Krypton). I know Corenswet seems like he is from the outside but he played a character in a HBO police drama. I think the DCU Batman is going to come from someone in house or at least a finalist will be. How about Tyler Hoechlin for Bruce/Batman. To me he fits Batman more then Superman and he has been the best live action Batman in recent memory.

The latest rumour of them hiring a middle aged actor is hilarious. James Gunn is in a tough spot with this one. You can't hire an actor that is too old as you want some longevity in the role, but given them whole bat family, you can't go to young either. Which means you run into an actor that is basically the same age as Pattinson. He will be close to 40 by the time the brave and the bold comes out, if not 40 by then.

James Gunn debunked the latest "middle aged casting" rumor, though, I wouldn't be surprised if the actor does end up being in his mid 30s to late 30s when he's cast.

I just don't think Gunn is looking for a new Batman right now .

35 to 40 would be fine imo, since this Batman is supposed to be old enough to, at least, have a 10 year old son .

Most of the actors they've cast to play Batman in the feature films have been in their 30s anyway , so, that's more than old enough to be an " established " Batman whose been operating for at least a decade.

I mean, everyone in Hollywood plays younger for their characters... When were use to seeing people in their late 20s early 30s still play teenage characters you really have to cast middle-age just to make a character seem like a grown up adult

These actors today just don't have that traditional leading man look, anymore until their much older

Welll Pierre is 6’3 and Corenswet is 6’4 so I think Batman will be around their sizes. With WB history on working with actors they have worked with before, I could see Alan Ritchson and Lee Pace. My goodness Lee would be perfect as the Darkknight. Wow.

bringing back Ritchson as Aquaman would almost interest me more

Gunn calling BS on the report doesn’t mean he’s not gonna cast a middle aged Bruce, only that the scoop that they are looking for a middle aged Bruce is BS, because maybe they’re not that boxed in with regards to age, or even more likely, that they’ve not gotten to the casting stage yet.
