I think because after all the stuff that he did for his family. He ended up losing them and all the drug dealing was for noting.:csad: Also he became greedy.

I absolutely cant wait for this show to return. I still think the scene with Jesse doing cpr on his gf is one of the most heartbreaking scenes Ive ever scene on tv. Just the way they shot that scene kinda faking you out at first with the bed rocking n everything was amazing. Seriously i almost cried when I watched that, it brought up alot of sad memories.

Yeah, def. amazing.

Her dad on the phone picking out the dress too.

The last show this raw that I watched was The Shield, and even this tops it.

It just had a really big impact on me cuz Ive had 3 people in my life od. 2 ex gfs and my little sister fiance. Well I only cared about one of the exes but I still didnt wish death on the other.

TCA: Buckle up for "Breaking Bad's" third season

Get ready for an action packed, emotionally jarring ride on the third season of AMC's "Breaking Bad" which bows March 21.
Without giving away too much, series creator Vince Gilligan promised that it would be a momentous season for the key characters. It will be especially active for Anna Gunn, who plays the long-in-the-dark wife of Bryan Cranston's Walter White, the cancer-stricken high school chemistry teacher who turns to meth manufacturing and dealing to support his family.

Walter will face incredible consequences for his actions over the past two seasons, Gilligan said during Saturday's TCA panel, which also included Cranston, Gunn, Aaron Paul and Bob Odenkirk.
"Walter is like Dr. Frankenstein - with good intentions he's created a monster," Gilligan said.
Cranston (pictured above left with Aaron Paul) quickly joked that "Elsa Lanchester is going to star in our show."
But quips aside, Gilligan and Cranston spoke at length about the challenge of doing a show where the character is changing so dramatically with every season.

For most TV shows, the goal is to find a formula that works for the characters and the premise and then protect it at all costs. Already, Walter is hardly the beaten down character of the pilot, but rather a guy who's starting to enjoy some of his ill-gotten power.
"This show is kind of an experiment," Gilligan said. "It's taking a character from point A all the way through to point Z."
Cranston said the shorthand they've often used is: "Turning Mr. Chips into Scarface."Breakingbadag
"My goal is to convey this man as a real human being," Cranston said. "He's susceptible to temptation at times - he's vulnerable, unknowing, strong and weak."

Gilligan and his writing team made the decision to start the process exposing Walter's secret life to Sklyer at the end of season two. This repercussions of this revelation will be a major factor in season three.
"There are a lot of things coming up for Skyler this season," Gilligan promised. "The road she starts to go down is fascinating," Gunn (pictured right) added.

Gilligan surprised some by observing that the heart of the show rests with Aaron Paul's Jesse, the meth-fiend former student who is Walter's partner in crime. Jesse begins season three in rehab and racked with guilt and grief over the death of his girlfriend, Jane, in the season two closer.

"Jesse is the moral center of the show. He's the innocent," Gilligan said. "He has a moral center that is more properly braced and more product that even what Walt has."

Gilligan gave credit to thesp Bob Odenkirk (pictured left) for being so good in his role of low-rent lawyer Saul Goodman that Breakingbadbo he turned what was meant to be a few guest shots turned into a semi-regular role -- one that will grow in season three. The idea for the character came from "The Godfather's" Tom Hagen. Gilligan admitted to watching the first two "Godfather" pics "over and over again and ripping it off shamelessly at every turn...We figured if Michael Corleone has a consiglieri Walter White needs one too."

The Goodman character is akin to a hooker with a heart of gold, Gilligan confessed. This surprised Odenkirk. "Does he have a heart of gold? I think he'd remove it to see how much he could get for it," Odenkirk joked.

Gilligan (pictured right) also cited the work of Sergio Leone as a big influence on the tone and look of the show. Breakingbadvg

When asked whether the cancer diagnosis for White that kicked off the show would rear up again to become an important plot point, Gilligan spoke in broad strokes but made it clear that the answer is yes.

"We haven't forgotten where we started with this," he said. "We're going to keep it as real as possible. Cancer in so many ways is the villain of the piece."

i can't wait. breaking bad is definitely one of my favorite shows ever.

I can't wait for this show to come back on. I remember I came upon it by accident, during the premier, as I couldn't sleep one Sunday, and it was on at around 12:00, and I couldn't be more happy that I found it.

I do have a question that I've always been curious about. Was this show made for HBO or Showtime at first? Because I remember the first show had nudity, and you saw a blurry women a few times.

Yeah it was meant for cable, the pilot has one uncensored, and one where that chick is wearing a bra. I think it was supposed to be on FX but they turned it away because of Cranston... quite an ironic outcome, thank jebuz AMC picked it up. :o Even without the freedom of cable it carries a lot of weight.

I did a search, and can't believe there's not a thread on this awesome show. Season 3 premiers on March 21 @10 pm.

I just finished watching s2, and it ends with a nice little cliff hanger.

They better bring Walter back a little further into the Lightside, because his watching that girl choke to death has almost killed this show for me. That was hands down one of the most selfish acts I have seen a character take.

I can't freaking wait!!!!!!!

You know, i just started watching this. I completely missed season 1. I kept hearing about it, and went OnDemand and in about a weeks time managed to watch the entire season 2 (Season one wasn't up there, or i would have started with that). After the first two eps, i was hooked. I might see if i can get s1 on dvd!

As far as Walt watching that girl choke.....i'm sorry, but i would have done the same thing. You could tell she was a loose cannon and was a real threat to Walt, Jesse and Walt's fam. The way Walt watched her die, wasn't that of someone that was evil, it was one that knew it was somehow for the greater good..of Jesse. He felt bad about it, no doubt, so i don't consider it selfish.

I'm interested to see how his wife Skyler feels about all this. In s2 she gave her boss a pass for conducting illegal activities with the accounting stuff in the company, she'd be a real hypocrite if she doesn't give her own husband a pass for breaking the law too.

What's the show about? I saw the season premiere yesterday and it look good but I was lost cuz I never watched any of the previous episode...

I haven't seen s1 but from what it looks like from season two, it's basically about a HS Chemistry teacher and one of his former students selling Meth. Since he's a chemist, he knows how to make some grade A stuff, and his former student is sort of a street savvy guy..sorter! It's somewhat of a dark comedy. I don't exactly know why the main character, Walt, went from teacher by day to drug dealer 'cause i missed s1. I assume it's 'cause of his illness....oh, also his Brother-in-Law is a DEA agent, who doesn't know anything about it but is on the hunt for this 'new Meth Player' in town! Great show!

There's a thread about this show, but it's probably buried by now, so I guess this one will work. It's kinda funny, cause I thought the premier was about 4 weeks ago, and I was so angry when I found out about an hour before it should've aired.

Anyways, I can't wait. :)
