I have to admit this is one of my top 3 favorite films i mean i have a a1 print of the 1935 poster framed about my work desk at this moment

but im not against a modern remake and with dracula flopping and the Universal monsters shared universe ever put on hold do you ever think we'll this this being made.

what would you want and who would you cast. its actually really hard to think of anyone to play the titular character and do you keep her screen time to the minimum or add to the character

Frankentein(1994) kind of was remake of it. That movie is great in my opinion.

Marge Simpson would make a good Bride of Frankenstein.

If we are lucky? Never.

More interesting is how people take the idea of a Bride (which actually originated in the Shelley novel) and have built upon Whale's ideas. Recently, the "bride" was a major character of Penny Dreadful Season 2 and one of its best aspects.

I think I saw an article very recently about all the times Frankenstein has made a bride in movies and pop culture a few months ago.

While I agree a lot of what made the original a classic could never work today the homosexual over tones etc I still think there is room to develop the bride as a character. I need to get back into penny dreadful

I'd be interested in that article, do you still have a link

There have been some interesting takes on the bride of Frankenstein since the '35 version....have you seen -

THE BRIDE with Jennifer Beals as the Bride, and Clancy Brown as the monster http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088851/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

FRANKENSTEIN: THE TRUE STORY with Jane Seymour as the Bride and Mihael Sarrazin as the monster http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070074/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_113

Sadly no I've always been meaning to see the bride just never got around to it and I've never heard of the second one

The Bride (with singer Sting as the doctor) wasn't that bad. The relationship between the monster and the midget was especially well done. (turn off the color and it becomes even more memorable!)

Branagh's version with the confrontation between the doctor, the monster, and the revived Elizabeth was woeful! If this could be edited out and still present a decent story, this would then be a decent movie.

Oddly a Bride of Frankenstein remake would just be a more accurate adaptation of the second half of the original book.

IMO, Bride of Frankenstein is flawed with the menagerie of miniature people that Dr. Pretorius has. This is a weak and unnecessary plotline. Otherwise the film is a masterpiece - and completes the original Mary Shelley story.

I would think that someone could do a fan edit and combine the original FRANKENSTEIN and BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN into one cohesive movie.

It'd be super doable. Neither film is terribly long.

All you would need to do is remove the end credits of Frankenstein and the main credits of Bride of Frankenstein, then smash them together.

It shows Pretorious as a mad scientist type, highlighting he has the capability and the mentality to carry out such experiments. The whole scene was to sell Henry on working with him. The miniature people proves to Henry how serious, ambitious, and ready Pretorious is. Those little people validate all his raving before that scene.

It's absolutely necessary, and I don't find it weak at all.

There is its called spawn of Frankenstein its on fan dubs I think

BOF is such a perfect film that I honestly don't want it to be remade. No matter what's done, it won't be as captivating as the immortal classic (imo).

I think Condon will do a good job, and certainly give the film a flavor unique to what the other Universal flicks will have. As long as the Monster or his Bride aren't destroying the world in some kinda disaster porn scene we'll be good.

I've always preferred it over the first one (which I also love).

I'm willing to bet $100 that's exactly what gonna happen.

Sky portal and all.

Think we'll get the Bride looking over her shoulder at us in the standard 'action-heroine butt shot' on the poster? :funny:

Considering it might be Angelina Jolie's butt, Yeah you might just get that.

Well if it's Angelina Jolie's butt I guess that's okay!
