Transformers brief sexual humor, and language.

Wow, that's scary. I fear the unrated DVD.

I'm looking forward to an extended/unrated DVD simply because most if not all of it will be more action. Even my gf said that she felt the fight between Prime and Bonecrusher felt obviously edited weird. Meaning that she was able to catch points in the fight that didn't match up because there were some quick scenes removed that would have linked it better. Not to mention Barricade disappearing. Someone in another post mentioned he heard there was a scene removed where Prime fights Barricade which is why he shows up late to the fight. Hopefully thats not just a rumour.

Again, why SHOULD it be anything? Because that's what you were expecting? It's what you want it to be?

Then don't see it again. Problem solved.

Of course, we all want something to be as good as we hope.

I'll probably borrow the DVD from my friend and skip over it all. Then i'll hope for something different from the sequel. :csad:

:wow:

We can only hope......:csad:

seriously i never understood that about you Americans, show all the blood gore and violence and no one bats an eye, yet think of the idea of sex and the whole country goes into melt down.

I suppose that's true. I'm used to walking into a movie with a blank slate. I judge a movie for what it is not what I wish it was going to be.

What is up with America's fear of sex over violence?

Well, judging by this thread there isn't one. And I really couldn't be bothered to discuss it.

people complaining for the sake of complaining... it really turns my stomach to listen to it, and see that this is my nation of america

=hugs captain america=

Don't worry, i'm not American nor Canadian.

=hugs captain planet=

Blasphemy! He just wanted to take pollution down to zero!

Why is this in this movie? Not to sound like a concerned parent or something, but soooooo much of this movie is marketed to children. It doesn't fit at all. Besides the writing it's another thing that keeps this from series like Pirates, Spider-Man, and Harry Potter. Instead of an epic family movie, it feels like it's made for brain dead teens.

Because Transformers is not specifically for kids.
I don't see how giant robots are just for kids. Besides, even kid's movies need something adult in it. Seriously, one sex joke or something is necessary for the parents in the theater that are dying because of how bad it is.

Doesn't anyone remember in the first Transformers movie they had Sam say "Sh**!"? It was rated PG-13, anyone complaining about their 5 year old learning too much should learn better parenting skills. Such as looking at a movie's ratings before letting them watch it, especially when the movie appeals mostly to teens-adults.

john tuturro said f*** while fighting frenzy.... why couldnt john mcklane say it then??

"get your hands off my bush"....very subtle.

"criminals are hawt".

The "get your hands off my bush" thing isn't serious, right? I mean, no one actually thinks that was supposed to be a sexual joke, right?

I never said it was specifically for kids. Are you saying all kids movies are bad or Transformers itself?

Of course, one swear in the middle of the movie. It was quite weird.

I don't have a 5 year old, though.

"Get your hands off my bush" was most definitely a wink wink.

Okay, here's my proverbial "two cents"...

1) The crude sexual humor should have been left out of the film; the violence alone was enough for the film to grab a PG-13. As for the *********ion reference, I was very conflicted over that. I didn't know whether to laugh or be disappointed. Just because people have been in that situation before, doesn't mean it has anything at all to do with the story. Seriously, what real dramatic purpose do references to self-love or porn serve in a film about humanity versus alien robots? NONE.

2) The language was somewhat appropriate for a PG-13 film, but the cut- off "mother-" line should have been left out entirely. This is a film based on a line of action figures for kids, not a war documentary. Just because lots of people cuss their heads off in reality, doesn't mean we should be teaching the new generation the same things. I agree that people should pay attention to ratings, but it's also the filmmaker's responsibility to bear the lessons in mind his film could be preaching. Neither party should outweigh the other; it should be 50/50 in terms of maturity and morality.

That was a blatant sexual innuendo. Not by the character, mind you, but by the script.

The movie was great!
Loved every minute of it... The action was fantastic the fx was top notch, the acting was great even with a cast full of B actors! They pulled it off nice.
I can't wait for the sequel, and the dvd of this movie!

Anyone who whines about the humor in the movie should just get a life lol every movie like this needs some comic relief, and it was done well.
They still stayed true to the mytho's.

Michael Bay did a bang up job, and proved all his critics wrong IMO.

My rating!

As long as that's a general assessment that's fine, but please don't think it's true of Americans as a whole. We aren't all completely anal retentive about things our children are exposed to in life.

As an aside, here's what happened to me when that scene played out:

My 11 year old nephew laughed his ass off when he heard it because he knows what *********ion is. I don't know how he found out, but he knew and saw the humor in that scene. We both had a good chuckle, and that was that. The kid is a straight A student with perfect attendance in school, and having already found out by 11 what *********ion was clearly hasn't impeded his life progress.

My 8 year old nephew laughed too, but then whispered me and asked what *********ion was. I told him "I'll tell you later" and left it at that. By the end of the flick, he forgot he ever heard it.
