Anyway, the criticism threads around here all seem to be getting quite ugly. I thought that SM3 was divisive on these boards, but this TF movie seems to have enraged true bloodlust.

I KNEW there was someone else out there! You're absolutely right, it's not just a family issue, it just doesn't fit.

It's a good thing that Transformers isn't a "family" movie. It's not like Harry Potter or Spider-man in that the human element in this film is grounded in a much more realistic and working class mentality.

It's not just a teenie bopper crowd. I saw people of all ages in my theater laughing at those jokes. Sure, you could be a prick, act all elitist and talk about how you're above all that. You're so much more "mature" and enlightened. And at that point, I would feel sorry for you. I want to be a well rounded individual. I want to be able to intelligently discuss the cultural ramifications of Kurosawa's appropriation of the Western and transposing it to feudal Japan and in the next breath laugh at the ATM scene from Clerks II. I want to be able to drink a nice Pinot or sit back with a cold beer.

This movie wasn't the family movie you wanted it to be. So it didn't meet your expectations. Big whoop.

Sure, some of the sex humor could and maybe should have been handled with a lighter touch while still being funny, but that ain't Michael "Rock out with your cock out" Bay's style.

The humour wasn't even close to the lame ass humour of Epic Movie. Like I was saying before, you don't need to be a teeny bopper or braindead MTV drone to find the humour in Transformers funny. Epic Movie is a perfect example.

Not sure if you've seen it, hopefully not lol. My friends dragged me with them for that pile of crap. Anyways, there is a scene with the guy from Nacho Libre who is playing the Satyr. He brings the kids into his home and does a MTV cribs thing, thier are scantily clad woman all over and one is on her knees cleaning his hooves. That scene made it look like she was giving him head and he looks at the screen smiles and winks at you. That is the brain dead humour I will shake my head at. The in your face "look kids were clearly selling sex here" and shamelessly I might add.

The humour in Transformers I felt was in fairly good taste. This is Speilberg who produced it.....I think he would have said something if it bothered him. He is a king at family/all age movies(not all of them at least).

On the level of Epic Movie and Norbit? Now you're just exaggerating. The sexual humor wasn't nearly as prevalent as you're making it out to be.
