As many longtime readers know, Marvel at one time had the comics license to the Robert E. Howard library, including Conan the Barbarian.

While Conan obviously never crossed over with Spider-man or anything, the age of Conan was the canon prehistory of Marvel universe. As many hardcore Conan fans will tell you, the Marvel Conan comics written by Roy Thomas (and mind you, them only) are the best Conan stories ever made outside of the original stories - and they are also among the best stories in Marvel comics canon.

With the recent change of Conan rights holders, and the long in gestation sequel to the 1982 Milius/Schwarzenegger movie hanging by a thread, the time is now right to bring the age of Conan into the MCU.

Let Marvel Studios reboot Conan, as the prehistory to the MCU, either on film or on Netflix. That way you would not only enrichen the MCU without complicating things in the modern MCU, but you'd also do Conan justice on film, for the first time.

What do you think?

Nope. Love Conan (still have first 20 or so Marvel comics with him)....but he belongs in his universe and everyone else in theirs.

It would be fantastic to have creatures like Shuma-Gorath ( essentially Robert E. Howard's love letter to his friend, H.P Lovecraft), but to have Conan in the MCU wouldn't be a good match for either. So I would be fine if they instead expand their respective universes without each other.
