I get that Dorothy was never seen in the show either but I don't think there was any reason to "keep the Dorothy they know". After all, we're going to be seeing new versions of the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion so what difference does it make?

Like she kills Elphie's sister and Glinda gives her the silver slippers... So they have ample opportunity.

Maybe they’re going to adapt her like a horror movie. Like she’s just standing there like Freddy Kruger or something. I suppose she did kind of kill a lot of people during her short time in Oz.

Movies should only ever be as long as they need to be. Don't strive to make a 3hr epic just cause it's the Part 2 epic conclusion. Just this year, Final Reckoning for me was about 30 mins too long and could have learned a lesson about being nice and tight. So, this being 20 mins shorter to me just means that's how long the movie is. Which is neither good nor bad until I see the finished product

It’s also an hour and 20 minutes longer than Act 2 of the musical so they’re still more than doubling the content of what they’re adapting lol.
