Justice League!!! There is talk of DC and WB collaborating on a new Justice League feature film. I dunno maybe all these years as a dissapointed Marvel fanboy has made me jaded toward superhero films. The biggest question producers are trying to overcome is character development, interaction, and satisfying fans. Good superhero team flicks are ruined by a number of factors such as explaining origins, and misuse of good characters. I think Dwayne Mcduffy is a master of character interaction and development, and combined with Bruce Timm they could bring us the Justice League live action movie weve been begging for. Case in point, look how X3 tried to explain the Phoenix saga. I was awe struck when I first read the saga yet let down when I went to see the film. There are several Justice League storylines that have left me in awe, and Ive gotten the same feeling when watching Timm and Duffy's interpretation. Just watch the episode "The Great Brain Robbery" everybody thought Flash was just the lighthearted mascot of the team, but once his mind is replaced by Luthors you see that Flash can be a very serious threat, if not the most powerful. Anyway, watch the clip and you will see what Im talking about, but in the meantime do you guys want to see the JLU people helm the live action film or not? Thoughts?

Here is a link to where you can view The Great Brain Robbery, but its mature content and you have to be over 18.

i'm still waiting for the Justice League animated movie ever since they cancelled JLU :(

as much as I love Bruce Timm it wouldn't really make much sense to have an animator work on a live-action film. re: McDuffie, writing episodes for an animated series is a hell of a lot different than writing a major motion picture.

 Why? Its basically the same concept, only this time live actors are used, I'm sure WB would provide people to fill in the blanks for him. Every process has to have a beginning.

Great Brain Robbery being 18+?? WTF!!!

Its extreme I found a better link but its because of the sexual innuendos, and I just said that because I thought the mods would trip.

click this instead.

Because he's EVIL.

Not sure about Timm directing, but McDuffle and Dini writing a JLA movie would equal awesomeness.
Im fine with that, as long as we get that good raw writing talent.

Frank Miller anyone?

Timm & his cronies doing a live action superhero film sounds interesting, but also risky. Not sure where I stand on that.

Well I'd hope youd be in the movie too Dr. Fate. Im sure they could do a better job, based on their vision and attention to detail and action sequences. They deserve a chance, anyone that can cram sych brilliance in under 30 minutes deserves a promotion. Im tired of these hackneyed plot devices maliciously overused by Marvel, at leasst these people could provide a fresh perspective. By the way, please correct me if Im wrong, but have they ever done a Smallville episode???

ano ne,

I have never ever in my life of watching cartoons ever stood up and applaud when the credits close.

What if we test them out on a smallville episode? anyone?

Frank Miller anyone?

For a very dark sequel Hell yea! I hope he gets picked to do Superman vs. Batman.

For some stupid reason, even though Warner's knows that Dini and Timm have created critically acclaimed animated movies and TV shows with superhero characterizations that are far superior to their live action renderings, for some reason they refuse to let them work on films. WB feels they can't do it for some reason. It is so stupid. Even Siskel and Ebert felt that the WB should let them work on Batman movies after watching the comped Laser disc of Mask of the Phantasm that the WB gave them when Batman Forever came out. In fact, they even made a point of reviewing it the week after, and making a big deal about it. I think even Dini has said they have begged the WB to let them do the films and the WB said no.

The only thing the WB let them even touch was the Batman Beyond movie, which Dini was writing and producing. But I believe Warner's passed on it when their two main candidates to play Bruce Wayne, Clint Eastwood and paul Newman, turned it down. But it did have a director-Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titan's)

Who said that the WB wouldn't let them. Couldn't it also be that they might not be interested right now? I will admit that McDuffie does have aspirations to move into live action, but he has admitted that his experience writing for comics makes him more suitable for serials (i.e. TV). I got that info from his website. Apparently he believes that scripting for comic books are more of a challenge than scripting for live action because the comics force you to write more visually and you have to control time when doing a story line (there is only so much space in a comic book).

thats what i never understood about WB, they have such great talent in the comics but they wouldnt let them do comic book movies, not even to consult?

What about Alan More and Jeph Loeb?

there are other talents in DC than those two.

those two are practically pros in the movie biz compared to their colleagues in DC.
