Days of Future Past Bryan Singer Directing X-Men: Days of Future Past - Part 2

They should've had Phoenix as the major storyline. Was that not a big enough threat for the X-Men to face?

I wonder what Singer means when he says that the movie brings the two casts together. Does this simply mean together in the same movie, or does it mean actually sharing scenes? Because IMO the danger with crosscutting between the two vastly different time periods with two different casts who neither know nor care about each other is making the film look like you're squeezing in two different movies into one, with no real emotional connection or anything between the two halves. LoTR movies spread themselves between multiple storylines, but its characters at least had one first movie where they all got to know and care about each other.

Wsn't that the set-up after x-2? It's just that singer left and ratner dropped the ball.

Id love the whole world to hear the track somewhere and say: hey, this is the X-men theme!

We already have 1 familiar X-Men theme and thats the team for the 90s animated series.

Origins is in a alternate timeline from FC which is in a alternate timeline from X1-3. Like the Star Trek reboot. or Back to the Future part 2.

They are all in 1 timeline, just because the continuity errors are not hard to see, it doesn't mean they are already set in different timelines.

That's kind of stupid. The greatness of X-men and X2 aren't destroyed because of last
Stand.the crapyness of Joel Schumacher's batman films hasn't destroyed my apprecation
for Tim Burton's batman films.

Agreed.

That's actually something I've thought about a lot. At least one character has to travel back in time. If it were Wolverine, Storm, or Kitty (or everyone) and they go back and only find the XM:FC team, then the payoff will be really disappointing without a young Scott and Jean there. This is my major reasoning for championing the introduction of a young Scott and Jean, even if they have to fudge up the timeline a little or lot. It's like...

"Future X-men, meet Havok and Banshee."

"Yay."

Looks like Singer is on his way to Montreal!

he could just mean 2 casts together in the same film, doesnt need to mean they will meet

now singer you just have to bring back cyclops then i may gain abit of respect for X3... maybe...

I definitely think that's on the cards for Singer. He knows Cyclops is the leader of the team... even though he didn't always show it.

"I’m taking into account every movie – I’m not just grabbing my first two movies and First Class and smashing them together. I’m taking into account the entire universe as it’s been laid out so far on the screen, and really respecting it and trying to work with that. People took things in various directions, so there’s some clean-up. But ultimately I’m not just ignoring them either."

I think Singer is just going to bring back the actors who played the characters i.e. Ellen Page as Kitty, Taylor Kitsch as Gambit. I don't see how he can take anything else from X-Men Origins: Wolverine story wise, he has a bit more to work from X3.

With Gambit, they could cast an older actor and not Taylor Kitsch since Wolverine happened pre-X-Men and Gambit should have aged at least 15 years. Though I wouldn't mind if they cast Taylor again as Gambit.

Regardless of what singer has said i don't really see any actors from origins being cast. I'm talking from will.i.am to keving durand to that hobbit guy.

That includes kitsch (although they would really benefit from his box office clout :oldrazz:).

LOL I totally forgot about will.i.am!!!

In his defence, he did look exactly like the comic book artwork of the character.

But that's the only defence I am offering. I don't much care for him otherwise; on the UK singing talent show The Voice he comes across as an idiot.

I remembered he was on Ellen and he was performing with the Black Eyed Peas and after their performance, he told people to watch the new X-Men movie because he's in it and Ellen was like "you're in the movie?!". He was such a random casting.

he had a bigger role then Ryan Reynolds... why oh why

There's no character to transfer a mind!

I'm betting on Xavier. His mind is already used to traveling into another body. A telepath could send old Xavier's mind into young Xavier's mind... my idea is he could receive it via the new Cerebro Magneto helps him build! Ties up a that loose end too.

I don't blame Ratner. I blame Fox. They should've waited for Singer instead of rushing the movie.

If they go too old then Rogue can never be with Gambit. This franchise is so messed up.:csad:

I gave up on a Rogue/Gambit pairing a while ago.

I blame Celine Dion for this. :o
